Toronto's Riverdale Farm covers 7.5 scenic acres and is a hot spot for families. Along with the wooded areas, ponds and gardens, there are plenty of farm animals to visit. All this and more in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Maybe we went at the wrong time/day ( we went on a Saturday afternoon in August) but there really wasn't much to do. I was very disappointed that there was no petting of animals, I was kind of looking forward to that. Other than that, it's just a relaxing walk among various barns and pens, most of the animals were... More

The visit to The Riverdale Farm is a good choice for those who want to know different places of the city of Toronto. My wife and I spent a pleasant morning touring the peaceful environment offered. On leaving, we cross by one of the beautiful neighborhood: Cabbagetown.

Nice to go with the little ones who love animals. Running around the park, petting the animals at the farm....it's a nice outing for sure.

Riverdale Farm is a lovely gem found in the Cabbage Town community of Toronto! It has old farm buildings, winding trails, and a collection of farm animals sure to delight young and old alike! For the quality of this attraction, it is hard to believe it is free! There is a kiosk outside the park for donations, and I was... More

This was one of my favorite days in Toronto. The animals appear to be well tended and the gardens are gorgeous. Don't miss the small church and cemetery at the entrance. It is also a pleasant walk from the streetcar through a very pretty neighborhood. Make sure you approach from the streetcar side of the river, my google maps offered... More

Spent about 2.5 hours at this pastoral, peaceful destination in the area of Toronto known as Cabbagetown. The farm/park provides a wonderful walk through nature with stops at small farm animal pens including sheep, goats, turkeys, horses and cows, rabbits. Take the hill side walks and meander through a natural habitat for many birds; ponds and other flora. My 9... More

The farm isn't huge but there's plenty to keep the kids happy for an hour or so. Our son enjoyed wandering around and going in and out of the barns. Being out of season some of the trails were closed which was a shame as we would have liked to walk them. Definitely a worthwhile free and relaxing place to... More

When cabin fever strikes in the dead of winter the choices for family outings are pretty meagre and often expensive. BUT - tucked into the streets of picturesque houses of Cabbagetown is this "working" farm that is open year-round with free admission This is the perfect place for the kids to get outside and stretch their legs for a while... Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
