Toronto Islands is a wonderful place for a day's getaway. Take the ferry, walk, bike, swim at Ward's beach, take the kids to Centreville. Gorgeous hikes, good canoeing, pretty and peaceful. Be polite, people live there.

Sure it's a nice little ferry ride and there's a great view of Toronto skyline . Because of the high water level of Lake Ontario the Islands are partly flooded and some of the attractions may remain closed for a little while . I suggest...More

Caution; Most of the islands are flooded right now. Tourists cannot go to the islands for several weeks. This is a pity as there are great walks, beaches and entertainment for children there. However nothing is available now. Extreme caution advised

Scenic but soggy. Island is flooded, under a foot of water. Locals are water-logged and ornery. Stay away! Far away.

You can stroll, rent a bike, sunbathe or sip wine on the Toronto Islands. A short ferry ride across the lake and into another world! A very relaxing escape from cars and skyscrapers too. Lovely venue for taking skyline photos of the Big Smoke.

It was an ok experience. Very long lines to get on the boat. Many interesting things to see on the island. Impressive view when planes take off, especially when you are on the boat.

Go early and grab a water cab for $10 per person; you can take the ferry back for free once you're over there. The cab will take you anywhere you want on the island. We got dropped off on the east tip and walked back...More

Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner
Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the
outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is
celebrated by a number of monuments and museums,
giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier
destination for modern art, people here stroll through
the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy
the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe

Why are reviews written in December raving about "swimming" and a "nudist beach" - it is minus 12 - are they nuts? I would like reviews relevant to the season please.

Jason, there are a vast number (dozens or more) of reviews written within the last month that do not make it clear they are referring to visits made in the summer, yours is one of many. I am mystified why people are writing... More
