Oct. 2020 • Family
We came to see he ghost tour tonight and we were not disappointed! Our tour guide (Jack) was wonderful and very friendly! Speaking was clear and stories were super engaging! They even gave us some advice on post secondary while we were chatting! We will definitely be back and we hope to see Jack again!

amnal in black creek village was amazing

amazing and a great way to reconnect with our food system. Black Creek is also a very interactive and real way to learn about Canadian history and specifically about the history of the Toronto region. Great way to spend the day with the kids. I can’t recommend this place highly enough! It’s also quite easy to get there by TTC now that they’ve built the new subway extension.

Great for kids and adults

What a great place to take our grandchildren! The tour of the buildings was informative and kept the girls (7 and 5) enthralled. The fact that we could wander into all the buildings ourselves and could see and learn so much was exceptional. The farm animals were just as engaging. Four hours went by in a flash! We'll be back.

Doing well under restraints!
Sep. 2020
I have been visiting BCPV since the 1990s and am very comfortable there. The staff are handling the restraints of the pandemic very well. I particularly enjoyed the presentation by Keisha who demonstrated great knowledge of her area while being very personable with young and old.
I look forward to the TRCA allowing BCPV to open up further, allowing more staff back.

Fun on a summer's day
Sep. 2019
A whole village of 19th century Ontario log houses each still fulfilling its original intentions -- grinding, pharmacying, cooking. The kids will love the animals. Adults will enjoy the setting. Worth the drive (or the very safe subway) to Toronto's northwest corner.

Hi Culture42788, Thank you for your positive feedback regarding Black Creek Pioneer Village. We are so happy you enjoyed the scenic beauty of The Village, and were able to stop by for a visit with our rare and heritage breed animals! It's true; little ones have a blast being able to see and hang out with our farmyard friends. We're looking forward to Opening Day, on April 27, 2020. We hope you'll visit again!

A view of the past

Black Creek Pioneer Village is a collection of settler homes. Interesting from the historical perspective, and really nice in the Spring and Fall. Good period restaurant, with appropriate food.

Please take care of this property
Nov. 2019
An amazing look at history, but the place is falling apart. The buildings need more upkeep!! There are never enough actors in the houses, which takes the 'living' out of this living museum. I know this could be a money issue, but I'm sure there are volunteers that would love to dress up!

The parking lot is gravel, yet there are potholes that nearly destroyed my car. Please just fill those potholes with more gravel!! If you drive a car that you love, do not bring it here.

I would recommend eating before you come, or bringing your own food/snacks, they sell some sandwiches, etc. in the gift shop, but the quality is awful.

Still this is a great attraction for the family, or anyone that wants to learn more about Canadian settler history. It would be nice to see more of the indigenous influence and history during this time included, as well.

With some TLC, this place could be great!

Reality check when you visit the beautiful grounds. Our students had so much fun. They didn’t want to leave. The guides were awesome. The many hands workshop was so much fun. Many of our students thought doing some of the chores would be fun. Lol maybe for a day or two then they would be asking for their parents to do them again. It’s a must see in the GTA.
