This is an impressive temple complex that one should definitely visit. After an introductory film you can visit the temple. However, it is not allowed to take photos inside the building. After the visit, one should definitely visit the 'Understanding Hindu Dharma Exhibition', which gives information about the cultural achievements of the ancestors of the Indo-Canadians.

This Hindu temple features intricate hand carved stonework and must be seen up close to fully appreciate the work involved. Despite being next to the highway, it is peaceful and quiet around the temple. At the far side of the temple is a small section selling freshly made vegetarian food, as well as a small dining area.

I had no idea about this place if it wasn’t for trip adviser. Absolutely beautiful. All hand carved stone. 5 men working on the exterior when we were there. I am in the construction trades and I was super impressed.

Beautiful mandir structure, but was a shame since no photos were allowed inside and the entrance to the steps was closed.

Excellent place to visit and know something about religious history. The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir complex in Toronto has become the focus of interest and wonder for local citizens and visitors to Toronto. The complex consists of the first traditional hand carved Hindu Mandir (Hindu place of worship), Haveli and the Heritage Museum.
The fusion of traditional Indian architecture with modern technology has attracted people from all walks of life; including students on field trips, accomplished architects and engineers and visitors from all over the world who come to enjoy the experience. All visitors have been awestruck by the unique architecture and the detailed intricacy of the carvings. The Mandir is a masterpiece of intricate design and workmanship of ancient Indian arts, traditions and philosophy.

We went here to appreciate the architecture and learn more about the Hindu culture. Our visit did both. The temple is amazing to see both inside and outside. Wear warm comfortable socks as you will be required to remove your shoes as soon as you enter the building. We visited the museum to get some background on the temple and the religion. There is a small suggested donation. The rest of the place is free, including parking. We did not attend any of the daily rituals, but we visited the Mandir and Haveli, and were encouraged to do so. It was a bit awkward and uncomfortable being in a place of worship where you are not a believer, and the believers fall prostrate in front of Murtis (divine images), but that was my personal issue. All are welcome. The Mandir is located in an industrial area. We thought we had plugged in an incorrect address until we turned the corner and found it. The photos make it seem much larger than it actually is.

A wonderful place to visit...from beginning to end. When you arrive you are greeted via intercom and told where to park. When leaving you are graciously asked if you have any questions and thanked for visiting. It is a wonderful enlightening experience and the architecture/craftsmanship is out of this world.

We drove past this on our way to our hotel and googled directions to find it. It is amazing! Inside the temple is beyond beautiful! It is free to visit and park with donations accepted.

Hi! I want to go to temple in January first day. Is it possible? The temple will go open? How much time is necessary for to visit?
