I have seen many great Cirque Du Soleil presentations over the past years. Especially Kooza, which was a fantastic re-invention of the great artism in Cirque Du Soleil. I have now seen Amaluna in Dusseldorf, and was really disappointed. There are some good artistical presentations, no doubt about that, but the Show as such definitely does not meet the (high)... I love the Cirque Du Soleil shows. This one was under a big top down by the harbour. The acrobats are incredible and the stage and decorations are so colorful. Loved the interaction with the audience. A must see!

Fantastic show with a good size venue, I don't think there was a bad seat in the house! Great outing for a couple or a family, the talent was mind blowing, the acrobatics were amazing to see, nice night out for sure!

We saw Amaluna under the Grand Chapiteau in the grounds of the Intu Trafford Centre. It was an awesome show and worth travelling for, combined with an overnight stay and a visit to the shopping mall. We have seen several CdS shows around the world and it is one of their best shows. We both rated Amaluna and Ovo ahead... More

I saw Luzia and it was spell-binding. In their tent everyone has a good view and it is that view that makes you appreciate their skills and art-forms. I loved the show and would return to Toronto especially to see them again, I have sen them at other venues but it was not the same,

Went yesterday to see this show. It was fantastic! As a couple who works out we appreciate the difficultly in the physical nature of the show. The cast are incredible. There is almost too much going on to take it in. For people to say that it's 'nothing new' and 'run of the mill'.......would love to see you up on... More

I'm looking at the 3-4 star reviews here before I go to do my review of Amaluna. £4 for a bag of crisps, £3 for a bottle of water - Rip off? Yes. But, you're not there for crisps and water and they will have to pay a fortune to clean the tent so quickly - an army of cleaners,... More

Show was really good especially when you don't know what to expect but my down points were the lack of toilets the rudeness of some of the staff and the prices of food and beverages..£4 for a bag of walkers crisps (could get a box for that ) £3 for a bottle of 50p water I won't go on but... More

I seen a number of CdS shows, the last one being the Thriller show - which was awesome. But that's where I have a problem with Amaluna show in Manchester. First, though, the good points. The world-class, olympic-standard performers were outstanding - as one would expect. And - don't forget the live band and vocalists - all of which were... More

Be prepared to suspend reality for a short period as you land on the island of Amaluna. From the moment you enter the big top circus tent, you are transported to another world as peculiar characters interact with the audience. A surreal and amazing experience, i was left in awe after 2 hours of lithe bodies performing the most incredible... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
