This is such a great place, the sand was large granules, so easy to wipe off. The views were amazing but generally, hus place had such a relaxing vibe. Clearly many thought as it was fairly busy and lots of lobster coloured shoulders..

Nice place but nothing special. The view is not special, because of the fabric in the front of the beach.
I suggest to visit it during the sunrise when beach is empty.

You may never see anything else like it. Built with a small fortune of taxpayers monies you have a "green space" of sand ( specially designed) , metal shade umbrellas ($$$) and chairs to sit on. But it is unique and part of Waterfront Toronto and making activity people space in a concrete jungle. Be cautioned this is not a "Beach" and there is no water access. Freighters (Toronto's last commercial freight dock) and Billy Bishop Landings and take offs are fun to watch. A George Brown campus is adjacent. What is remarkable is that this is a NOVEL and UNIQUE approach to Urban Landscape design and the attempt must be applauded in a waterfront of cement and condos and delimited water access. Kudos for the attempt. ( Check out the waterpark just north across the street).

I was looking forward to walking along a beach and getting my feet wet, unfortunately there is no swimming at this “beach”...there is a sand area with umbrellas where people lay out to tan... this visit was a waste of time for us

Trekked all the way to visit this beach with my kids because the photos from various sites made it look quaint and appealing. What a huge disappointment! My kids called it “ghetto”- trash everywhere, faded “pink” umbrellas, no water access. Don’t bother. We should have gone to Toronto Islands instead.

High end. This was a lovely spot to sit for a drink and watch the water and setting sun. Quiet and clean. Felt like o was at a beach club in the tropics. Sunset was absolutely gorgeous!!

Want to spend half day at the CANADA sugar beach and George
Brown, park opposite to George Brown , the indigo lot $12.00 for whole day during weekend , cheaper than municipality metre off the street .
There are beach chairs for you to relax on the beach , lots of sitting area inside Cora entertainment !
If you find this review helpful, please vote for me .

I didn't know what to expect when coming to the beach - never been to a city beach before. A bit of a disappointment, the docks are an eyesore and there is an unpleasant smell nearby. If you don't look at the docks and instead out over the water however it can be pleasant.

This is a great beach right downtown just east of Harbourfront Centre. It's not huge but isn't small either and has lots of umbrellas and chairs and it's all free. Like others have said you can't swim at the beach here but there's a splash pad to keep cool in and lots of shade. Definitely great if you want a wicked view of downtown while relaxing in the sand.

We are travelling to get here and I want to make sure we get a chair. Google says the hours are 8am opening but does it actually close or anyone know if it is actually busy in the morning?
