- Delena I130 contributionsWorth it!The aquarium was definitely one of the most fun things I did while I visited Toronto. Totally worth it due to the size and number of exhibits and species. It was clean, with ample seating and at the time we visited it was not crowded at all. We spent about 2 - 3 hours or so, but could have stayed longer due to the lots of information provided at the exhibits and also just staring at some of the sea life. I actually wish I had done the tube/tunnel twice. It was also interactive with trying to touch the sting rays, so that was lots of fun too. I accessed the Aquarium as part of the City Pass, which I would highly recommend due to the savings by the way, as part of a couple in late February/early March. I would also recommended that time of year to visit as there was enough space and no crowds to be able to linger wherever you wanted to go. There is also a cafe, the location of which was a bit misleading as it was so early on honestly, but there is a lot to explore afterwards.Thank you so much for taking the time to write your positive review! We are thrilled to hear you had such a lovely experience at our establishment and that you enjoyed our amazing animals as much as we do. Our mission is to provide a world-class Aquarium that will foster aquatic education and conservation, while simultaneously providing entertainment for visitors of all ages. - GrayHawksWest Palm Beach, Florida57 contributionsA must see in TorontoDefinity is worth it. It was only $25 per person and despite being small it was very well done. It included huge tanks with multiple access and view points. Tunnels under the water and a kid's play area. A unique item was the walkway thru the water processing and filter area which was done very well and enticing to see and understand. Thanks for coming by and leaving such a great review! - PNG86Dublin, Ireland69 contributionsCool AquariumReally cool acquarium- loved the tunnel section where you really get to properly see the sting ray, sharks, turtles etc. Some other clever nooks and crannies for a better view/ more interactive experience. It’s cool the way all the monitoring tanks etc are visible. Only downside is how busy it was - it’s well managed but did make it more challenging with small kids and meant we sped past a couple of bits- but still not enough to detract from overall experience. Thanks for coming by and leaving us a positive review! Special mention to the slow moving walkway which is the longest that we have ever been on. - William NutGuelph, Canada323 contributionsGreat fun, very expensive.Really cool experience, kids loved it expecially the tunnels and the stingray exhibits. Was a bit pricey for my liking though. Understand it is in a prime location and all that but was still my main complaint for an attraction mainly for kids/familiesThanks for coming by and leaving such a great review! - Pamela C29 contributionsWelcome to the Ocean and all of its Glory! From the moment you step inside the doors it’s sensory overload! Welcome to the ocean and all of its glory. I felt like a wondrous child trying to take in all of the exhibits at once. I was in a word: Spellbound. There’s just so much information and so many things to see and do! I would recommend going early as it has a tendency to get busy. The under water walk is amazing. I actually back tracked a few times to snap some pictures. My absolute favorite thing is the jelly fish exhibit. It’s mesmerizing. Really mesmerizing. There is just so much to see and do in Toronto that you really need to plan wisely. This place is a must see, it’s definitely an educational and FUN experience for kids of all ages! Did I mention the seahorses? Um, cool!Visited September 2022Written February 16, 2023
- Bryon PToronto, Canada151 contributionsFirst Aquarium visitThis was a great experience. We are both retired. We spent over 2 and a half hours looking at the displays. This is a great place for children and families. We will take our grand children the next time.. We saw the glass being cleaned inside and out, as well as a diver in the shark tank. The hands on area with the RAYS is a great finishing point.Visited February 2023Written March 9, 2023
- Cris G7 contributionsOkay…. But not worth the $$$The aquarium was a good experience overall, however it was very expensive for a family of 3 (2 adults and 1 child). Some of the species have very small tanks and it’s sad to watch them just go round and round in circles. Food and drinks were very expensive so prepare to spend if you want to eat and drink there. Shops are nice but there again overpriced items.Visited August 2022Travelled with familyWritten March 10, 2023
- RoaryVancouver, Canada3,038 contributionsNice aquariumMy family has visited a lot of aquariums. Although far from being top tier, it is still a good one. I think the underwater tunnel with moving walkway is quite special. Great way to keep people moving but still enjoying the entire experience. Also have to say that I've been to a lot ray habitats that allow gentle touching, but this is the first one I've seen where some many of them were bobbing in the water wanting to be petted. My kids thought that was really neat. I suppose the aquarium can be quite expensive compared to other attractions, but compared to other aquariums in Canada and the USA, I thought pricing was reasonable. Aquatic animals are not cheap to take care of, so one can't expect it to be cheap.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten March 29, 2023
- M EUnited States36 contributionsAmazing aquarium but busy and priceyA unique aquarium with very cool huge tanks, many with multiple species. Really liked the moving walkway, such a good idea to keep people from crowding the viewing but giving you time to appreciate the view. Was very busy (Sunday morning) so would like to go back on a less busy day if there is such a thing, but unfortunately it is really pricey. It would be helpful if they had a student discount - youth prices are only through age 13.Visited April 2023Written April 3, 2023

Very beautiful and well-done/well-kept aquarium with an amazing variety of fish! You get amazing views and get to have sharks swim right over top of you. My favorite part may have been the jellyfish! Big crowds, especially with school trips, but it’s worth it if you’re patient and take your time with this.

Notwithstanding its location in a world-class city on a world-class piece of real estate in that city, Ripley's Aquarium is mediocre, at best. It is small, unremarkable, pricey, and inflicts visitors with obnoxiously loud, generic music that mars the serenity of an aquarium experience.

Visited aquarium first time today (November 23)
Much better than what I expected to be honest, some aquariums can be boring and repetitive. But this was different from the start.
Massive fish tanks everywhere, moving sidewalk under the tunnel. Play area for the children (we didn't go in there as there was no children with us).
Seeing the octopus was amazing.
Only comment I would make was it would have been informative to know what the lady was doing with the stingrays at the end of the aquarium.
Apart from that, amazing day out.

I took our 8-yr old grandson to the CN Tower and the Aquarium in July this year (2023) for some one-on-one time together with no other family members accompanying us.
The visit to both was a great success & the Aquarium was a HUGE hit with him. Simply put...he couldn't get enough of the wonderful exhibits, especially the spectacular Dangerous Lagoon with the moving sidwalk & the underwater viewing tunnel. He also loved the octopus tank and the stingray touch pool at the end.
I took his sister (9 yrs) on a school PD day in Oct 2023. I don't know who enjoyed the time more...her marvelling at the fish or me watching her. She loves to fish with her father & grandfather so the outing was perfect for her. She was enthralled by the size & scope of the tanks & knew the name of many of the species of fish.
Like her brother she was REALLY taken by the Dangerous Lagoon with the underwater viewing tunnel that's complete with lots of large sharks, huge stingrays & giant turtles. The moving sidewalk was a great way to manage the crowds of people wanting to enter the lagoon. She too loved the octopus tank and the stingray touch pool at the end.
As an adult, I found the Aquarium to be very enthralling because of the dim lighting that provided a perfect way to see the fish in the lit up tanks. The place was clean and very well managed. If you visit, make sure you bring your patience and make sure you have lots of time to enjoy everything. It can be busy but people move from one exhibit to another so you don't have to jockey too much for a good vantage point to see everything if you just wait a bit for people to move onto the next tank.
I can assure any visitor that there's something for everyone in the gift shop and that you don't have to break the bank there. I was pleasantly surprised that prices range from just a few dollars for a small keepsake like a shark tooth necklace to several hundred dollars for bigger & more impressive items.
We used the GoTrain for transportation and we can't say enough about that too. It was a pleasant walk indoors from Union Station to the CN Tower. The Aquarium is RIGHT NEXT to the Tower so it was a breeze to get there on foot.
Overall I would highly recommend Ripley's Aquarium and can confirm that the combo ticket with the Tower & Aquarium can't be beat.
I would give this experience a triple A rating hands down...specifically AAA+.

Brilliant experience. We loved the underwater tunnel, the rays and the orange jellyfish were highlights. The play area half way around for younger children was brilliant as they enjoyed the water play and play area, could let of steam while we had a drink from the cafe and watch them safely from the tables there.

I am torn on how to review this.
The aquariums are absolutely beautiful with such healthy looking fish.
The reason for the 4 stars is the lack of signage to stop kids from banging loudly on the glass. Was disappointing to see this is allowed.

Had really, really high hopes for this aquarium based on its reviews and the fact that it is mentioned in many Toronto travel guides. However, it did not live up to the hype. It's not that big and does not have much that any other aquarium doesn't, with the exception of the octopus. That was pretty cool. Definitely not worth the price of admission. Not by a long shot. Would not return.
