Rent a pair of skates and enjoy the winter rink! There are food trucks with a plethora of yummy treats. Markets, political demonstrations... It all happens here...

The square comes to life at night. The Toronto sign lights up in different colours. Good place to sit down and relax. Lots of very old buildings there mixed with new.

Nathan Phillips Square is a terrific place to see during any season. In the winter you can go skating and during the summer months you can see the fountains spraying. The illuminated Toronto sign is a great place to get a touristic photo as well.

The city hall is here. Events take place and also ice skating during winter at this forecourt. If you carry on walking on Queen street E, you will come across an entrance to Eaton mall. It is a short 10 minutes walk from the square....More

I have been going to Nathan Phillips Square since I was a little girl. Skating there in the winter is so fun and could be a romantic date :)

I visited Toronto for New Years, and I must say this is the quintessential "I was in Toronto" pic. You must get a pic with the sign. The ice skating was a bit too crowded for my liking. I prefer less chances of getting knocked...More

one townie - and skating is free. This year they transformed into aChristmas Fair which runs 6 days a week- no mondays during the christmas holidays
