This watering hole has been drawing jazz fans since it first opened in 1951. Admittedly the decor hasn't changed much since the old days, but the sounds you'll find here are cutting edge. The Rex lures top local and international talent; Tuesday is the weekly jam night.

The Rex hotel has lots to offer, location: only a few blocks walk from the train station, Eton center, and lots of coffee shops and restaurants. Friendly and efficient staff, rooms that are in good shape although somewhat small. Great music and atmosphere

We've stayed at the hotel above the bar and naturally visited the bar for some food, drinks and live music. Great bands play here even several times a day. Food is decent and beer is cold.

What good jazz music we got for CAD 12.-, which was the price at the door last night. A quintet of confirmed gray-haired talents playing for over 2 hours. If you like jazz at whatever hour after noon, Rex is indeed the place for you...More

Great music, great food, great service and an audience that appreciates all of the above. This is not your typical touristy jazz club. Nice blend of locals and out of towners that are there for the music.

Short overnight trip at the Rex hotel. Had great homemade Swiss mushroom burgers with home cut fries. Great value and delicious. Stayed for 2 jazz sets, 7pm and 9:30. Fantastic! The only cover charge was for the 9:30 show, usually $10 but hotel guests get...More
