Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.

IMO this little mall is better than Pacific Mall across the street. You can find the same stuff here but it's way smaller. I was here yesterday and there was a Chinese New Year celebration going on with a lion dance which was awesome to see. There is a new AYCE restaurant which looked really good so I might have to try that one day.

The Splendid China Mall is smaller than the Pacific Mall on the north side of Steeles, but it is newer and looks tidier. Other than that it offers many of the shopping possibilities that the larger mall does, and it house the Graceful Vegetarian Restaurant, which is a real plus.

There is not much to see/do in this mall. Although they have specialty stores like archery, airsoft and a nice egg roll place in the food court I like. Otherwise, not much reason to go due to their small food court and Pacific Mall/Market village across the street with much greater selection of stores.

Went here to eat at a vegetarian restaurant on a Sunday. Assumed the mall would be open like Pacific mall( across the street) . About three stores were open. Deserted. About 5 nail salons. A giant TV playing in an empty lobby/ food court? I tried to look up the store directory online and the descriptions of the stores were too funny..hacked or something.

This was such an awesome experience. You have to check this place out if you are in Toronto! San Francisco has nothing on Toronto's Chinatown.

To complete the "Trinity" of Chinese malls in Scarborough area, we have this one. Splendid China is the smaller, quieter mall of the three in the area surrounded by Pacific Mall and Market Village Mall across the road. You do not have a large assortment of eateries and shopping comapred to the other two, but its quieter, more parking and its like a seniors retirement atmosphere. But you can visit still just to experience it. Vendors close early here though so make sure you come earlier. Just like a senior, you wake up early, you go home early.
