We chose the morning tour, covering the East side of Toronto. The business has a bit of a start-up feel to it, which we weren't expecting and it was a little off-putting at first. However, we quickly got over that feeling once the tour started.
Our guide, Adam, made great efforts to make sure we were both comfortable and having fun throughout the tour. You cover A LOT of the city during that 4 hours! We were thankful to have seen so much and ended up finding many places to revisit later, which we weren't even aware of prior to the tour.
We are both overweight and not avid cyclists, so having the electric motor really helped out whenever our legs got tired. I probably could have used the motor throughout the tour more often than I did, as the battery was still fully charged at the end of the tour. So, if you'd hesitate to take this tour because you feel you're out of shape, I would bet you'll be fine on this tour. We would definitely be interested in doing the tour of the West side of Toronto if we're ever back in that city.

I was visiting Downtown Toronto and had some time to spare so I gave it a try. I spoke to Adam and he was very helpful in arranging a booking on short notice and even helped with a tour route. I have never ridden an electric bike before, very cool. The bike itself was easy to ride and had plenty of power. Traffic was more tame than I expected too.

I'm looking forward to another trip to Toronto so I can explore some more of the downtown area.

At least once, they are quite fun and easy to use. Adam our tour guide was polite and really loves his city. We biked for 4/5 hours and there is truly a lot to see, especially if it is your first time in Toronto. A great way to get a feel of the city and the way of life.

Wishing Toronto ebike tours the best of luck.

We spent a quality 3.5 hours with the delightful tour guide Adam. He gave us the perfect balance of riding the EBikes, information about his home town and photo ops. We were very happy with the bikes as they allow you to pedal at your desired pace. The power assist adds a fun dimensions to the ride and we covered a fair bit of ground. This is a fun way to explore downtown Toronto and take it all in. We were extremely satisfied with every aspect of our tour and highly recommend you try it!!! 2 thumbs up.

My son and I took an afternoon tour with Adam and it was great. He's lived here all his life and knows Toronto backwards and forwards. Toronto is becoming very bike-friendly (at least in summer!) and riding an ebike allows you to cover a lot of ground without working up too much of a sweat. Being out in the open air, really feeling the different environments of Toronto while being guided by a true local makes for a memorable experience. Also, Adam took great pictures for us at all the stops and quickly sent them via email.

Highly recommended!

Highly recommend the ebike tour. I would definitely go again and recommend it. Adam pointed out Toronto land marks and fun information about this wonderful city. He was also flexible regarding staying longer at an attraction and was always taking pictures to provide us with memories. Thanks Adam I will see you again.

Tomersi, I had an absolute blast of a time with you two guys! The pleasure was all mine. Thank you for posting your review. It means everything to me and more, when you said my eBike tour was "The best eBike tour we have ever done" and that my Toronto eBike City Tour is among your "top 3 tours ever taken around the world". WOW. And you've reviewed and posted more than 48 times on the TripAdvisor website, thus I'm sure, other TripAdvisor readers greatly value your input! What are the chances, that while on our tour, in front of the CN Tower, your partner runs into a former employee he worked with a few years ago. Talk about a small world! I wish you guys nothing but the very best. Best regards Adam Proud owner Toronto eBike Rentals & City Tours Torebikerentals@gmail.com Tel 647-478-9076

Initially we were very excited about this tour. We were originally looking for scooters to rent to show an out of town friend of ours Downtown Toronto. Upon searching we found this website and decided to give them a call to see what they were all about. We spoke to Adam on the phone who explained to us how the tour would work. He seemed very enthusiastic about the whole procedure explaining that there would be many stops along the way where we would stop for pictures, food and drinks. After the conversation with Adam it seemed like the ideal tour to take. Mind we were under the impression that we’d be going to some of the top sightseeing locations and getting to explore the city.

Leading up to the day of the tour we thought that it would be a private guided tour due to the high price and my conversation with Adam. Perhaps we were misunderstood because upon arrival we found out that we were going on the tour with an older lady who seemed to be in her later 40’s.

We met in front of the St. Lawrence Market from where we thought we were going to their office. However, instead we proceeded to a nearby parking garage where he had a couple bikes locked away where there were bike parts, boxes, and clutter everywhere – the whole experience we felt was a little shady.

Before we had even begun the tour we were at the entrance of the parkade when a car tried to pass by us, Adam almost got into an altercation with the drivers because they were trying to drive by us. The bikes looked like they were going to fall apart any second as he was duck taping the batteries to the bike right in front of us. He then showed really quickly how the bikes worked and although the 3 of us picked up on it fairly quickly the older lady accompanying us had a bit of a hard time understanding how the ebikes worked. Despite her confusion and our hesitation, being new bikers in the city, Adam started the tour.

We had explained that though we were comfortable biking in the city we had not done it in a long time, Adam continued to assure us repeatedly that many beginners had been on this tour. After Distillery District we made our way to the Portlands where Adam (an experienced biker) rode far ahead of us, which happened a lot through out the tour, and didn’t look back to see if everyone was okay. After looking through the crowd to find Adam we got off our bikes and walked towards him when the older ladies bike got stuck on throttle and ran over an innocent bystander who was going to Cabana Pool Bar – this made for an embarrassing experience as many people were looking at us.

After this we continued to ride by some of the locations listed on his site. Majority of the tour was just riding by it the sites and him explaining how much houses cost in the neighborhoods and not really stopping to experience any of it. When we spoke on the phone with Adam he explained to us that we’d be stopping at a brewery to get a sample of beer and that we would stop to get a bite to eat at Loblaws. However, neither of these events happened. We were especially disappointed with not stopping to eat at Loblaws because we had been biking for a couple hours at that point and were exhausted. We also did not see the Air Canada Center, Rogers Center, Hockey Hall of Fame, St. James Cathedral, Round House and St. Lawrence Market.

Even though the tour guide seemed friendly and knowledgeable about the city, he did seem a bit insensitive about the different previous biking experiences everyone had. For the future I recommended having a tour guide in the front leading the tour and another in the back to make sure everyone feels safe. Because even though we were younger and were comfortable riding in the city he did not accommodate and was riding at a much faster speed than what we were used to and we felt like we had to keep up. Not to mention that he, on multiple occasions, was cycling between cars very close in proximity. Even the older lady at one point mentioned to us that she regretted going on this tour.

At the end we had to come back because the older lady’s schedule and although Adam offered to take us to Lakeshore we had had enough at that point and did not want to be rude and just wanted to be on our way. For payment we did not want to bring cash with us but we also did not that they didn’t have any direct payment machine options. The only choice was to pay from our phones on paypal.

Overall, I wish I would have just gone with the scooters. The seats were really uncomfortable – my butt still hurts. Also cold water was mentioned but the water was warm. We would sincerely like to be refunded our money as we really don’t feel like it was worth the money.

"Natasha S" was one of three 20 year old females from Toronto, that booked a Sunday afternoon tour on Sunday Sept 4th. I want to be upfront and clear. I've had the absolute pleasure of providing around 50 tours to date. 98% of the people I've met from all around the world have been absolute class acts, people with open minds, who are enthusiastic , are looking to learn, and are wanting to discover more about this beautiful city, and don't want to sit on top of a trolley bus. They have positive attitudes, love the outdoors and are a joy to spend four hours with. I love what I do, and really look forward to meeting new people and providing them with a memorable experience. I've had people who have taken the tour, who have posted more than 116 other TripAdvisor reviews to the community, and they have rated our tour as "Excellent 5/5" and "highly recommended" to other TripAdvisor readers. And only afterwards, did I find out that he was actually a "senior" TripAdvisor contributor. ** Read the review by "Even_Stephen" who says "The best part of the tour was our guide, Adam." Read DuckOutOfWater's review who says "The tour was terrific and Adam was a great guide" and "I would recommend this to anyone who likes bikes and wants to see the city in a unique and fun way." Read 1976Mariono's review. Ryan and I are absolutely thrilled by their endorsements. 85% of 'ALL OUR REVIEWS' are an "excellent 5/5 rating". Unfortunately, 2% of the population you'll never be able to make happy, no matter what. Now, I'll briefly address a few of Natasha's comments. As safety is our primary concern, I take a maximum of four people per tour. That's it. I feel a group of four is a perfect number for a private tour. I've never taken more than four people per tour and never will. I mentioned to Natasha during our initial telephone conversation that e-Bikes "are allowed" on all city streets, bike paths and painted bike lanes, while e-Scooters" are not." Here is a direct quote from the City of Toronto Cycling and by-Law website that states: "e-bikes are considered to be bicycles by the municipality of Toronto, and may be used on all types of cycling infrastructure: this includes painted bike lanes. "E-scooters" may not be used on multi-use trails or Cycle Tracks (separated bike lanes). Here is a link to the City of Toronto webpage stating this: http://www1.toronto.ca/wps/portal/contentonly?vgnextoid=aaf885d32acd1410VgnVCM10000071d60f89RCRD&vgnextchannel=f4d4970aa08c1410VgnVCM10000071d60f89RCRD Natasha states to not have "cycled in a long time". E-bikes are approximately 40 lbs, and are really a powered bicycle, while e-Scooters are 220lbs of brute in motion steel. It's beyond me why someone who has not ridden a bicycle in a "long time" would want to try riding a 220 lbs e-Scooter for the first time on Toronto streets. Lose control of a 220 lb e-Scooter at full force, and you're going to end up in the emergency room of your nearest hospital. Furthermore, e-Scooters don't make sharp turns. It will take you much longer than four hours until you get used to operating one. "FREE unlimited bottled water is provided during the entire tour." Please understand, it's hard to keep bottled water cold when its sitting on a handlebar cup holder, for four hours in the hot sun with the temperature reaching 32C/ 89F (and all our eBikes have cup holders on the front of the handlebars for convenience). You're always welcome to stop along the route and purchase a cold beverage from one of the many convenience stores we ride by during the tour. The eBikes have wide seats, (in fact, our eBike seats are slightly wider than normal bike seats) that are very comfortable. No one has 'ever complained' to us about the seats being uncomfortable. If, after four weeks from the eBike tour, your butt still hurts, we're lost for words and can't figure out why you haven't gotten medical attention. You might have bigger medical issues down there. And finally, If you would have mentioned just once, anytime during our four hour journey, that you weren't enjoying the eBike city tour experience, I would have instantly, no questions asked refunded you your money right there and then, called a taxi to take you back to our starting point. But this was not the case. Every time I asked if you were having fun, all three replied with a "yes". I took 132 pictures of you and your friends along the tour, and emailed them to you that same day. In every picture, all three of you are smiling and seem to be enjoying yourselves immensely. I wish you all the best in your first year at College. Adam Proud owner Tel: 647-478-9076 Friday Sept 30, 2016

We know and have payment transaction records of every single customer we've provided tours for and we have absolutely no record of you. If you have proof of purchase, please provide it. 85% of all our reviews are 5/5 or excellent. 'Senior' TripAdvisor members who have posted more than 116 reviews have rated our tour/service with a 5/5, "highly recommending" us to the TripAdvisor community. We don't know who you are and why anyone would try something so foolish like this. Yours is not a review, this is an attempt to slender our business and we won't stand for this. We will be asking TripAdvisor to remove this "fictitious review".
