About
Chinese Junk Boats were first built in the second century (circa 200 AD) but flourished during the Song and Ming Dynasties.During the Ming Dynasty, under the capable leadership of Admiral Zheng He, the world became much smaller as foreign lands were peacefully discovered and merchant trade established. The Chinese junk proved to be the greatest ship design the world had ever known.

What an amazing experience, like nothing else we have ever done. This was fun, educational and just all around wonderful. Not only did we enjoy the sailing, but we learned all sorts of history and sampled wonderful Chinese snacks and tea. Monty, Daniella and their daughter were wonderful hosts. In fact their daughter even entertained us with Irish dancing, Chinese singing and playing a fantastic instrument. Don’t bother doing the oyster shucking, this trip is a must!

Fantastic sail into the Charlottetown harbour, Monty and his wife Daniella and there daughter, prepared the ship and casted the sails once we were out in the harbour. everyone played their part in a very down to earth way. Daniella made a wonderful meal of authentic Chinese food from her home town. Monty is the history buff and gave the very interesting history of the boat and Chinese nautical history. Their daughter tap danced for us and sang two Chinese songs, very talented young lady! The experience is a steal at 75.00 per person, a sail, dinner and history, well worth twice the price. A very memorable experience. Thanks for having us!

The view was lovely. The history was fascinating. The other couple was delightful. The food was fantastic but best of all was the genuine and delightful hospitality of our wonderful hosts. Thank you for a most memorable evening.

Our grown family of 8 had an awesome time- what an inspiring life story and dream they shared. So thankful we did this tour-definite highlight! Food was delicious, their boat is beautiful and Daniela was a great babysitter for our 7 month old granddaughter. What a beautiful family! The whole experience was so personal, sincere, and unique! Truly legit!!

So exciting to take a Chinese junk tour. Don't think I've ever had the opportunity before. The ride was fun in itself, but the owner and his wife, who told stories , answered questions, and served tea and snacks (not the kind we're used to) really made the tour. She made and gave each of us a card she drew with a Chinese good luck symbol and our name on it. You will enjoy this trip.

We were visiting Charlottetown and thought we might take a tour of the harbour. We were intrigued in the junk boat tour because it looked really interesting, and we weren't disappointed! The owner/operator and his wife were very friendly and made everyone feel welcome. The tour lasted about 2 1/2 hours. We learned about the history of the boat and got to enjoy some authentic Chinese snacks and booze! After we docked the boat, we were treated to some traditional songs sung by the captain's daughter. If you want a different, interesting and fun experience, I would highly recommend this tour!
