I had a great tour with Spencer! I usually try to take a ghost tour when available when I am travelling and this one did not disappoint. Spencer is very knowledgeable and passionate about the local history, which definitely adds on to the tour!

We had an amazing 1 hour walking tour with a guide in his period costume and a brolly. The walk through the heritage sites of Charlottetown brought us to City Hall, Province House, Victoria Row, St. Dunstan's Basilica etc, finally ending up at the waterfront where William Henry Pope's statue is situated. The guide with his sense of humour presented history of Charlottetown and Canadian Confederation in a light hearted way that is not too intense or boring. The best part was out of the blue without our knowledge, a couple in their period costume walked towards us and played out a re-enactment of the Canadian Confederation.

Do not miss out this walking tour with Heritage Players & Historic Walking Tours.

We had a newbie tour guide who was very sweet and genuine but still polishing his spiel. It was scheduled for an hour and was closer to two. Which was fine for us but some folks might have grown impatient. We saw 5/6 historic buildings and learned some interesting facts but none of it felt “secret”. The information about a little girl Lucy Maud Montgomery was fun to hear! I say go on this tour but don’t get your expectations to high.

We did this tour in August and our guide was not the lovely lady mentioned and pictured in these reviews.
We were led by a Victorian grave digger carrying a candle lantern. He played the part exceptionally well and remained in character throughout. His personality played a huge role in making this by far the best ghost/historical tour I have yet experienced. It was an exceptional blend of storytelling and mythology. The Irish and Scottish settlers brought with them the auld tales of spirits and fairies he regaled us with, tying them into events and crimes of local lore.
I highly recommend this particular host and would definitely take the tour again at some point if we return to PEI.
