- JohnHamilton, Canada600 contributionsGreat production of Anne.Outstanding production of Anne of Green Gables. Nice theatre. A little show entering the theatre, but great show. Shame they will only be showing this show, every two years. Does not make any sense, to me.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten August 1, 2024
- HarrietLondon, United Kingdom67 contributionsAnne of Green Gables - The MusicalI was not expecting this production to be of such a high standard. I live in London and these performers could happily hold their own on any West End stage. They are all excellent and the actors in the lead roles are outstanding. Superb live orchestra too. This is a perfect show for kids and adults alike. The packed house on the night we went loved it. We sat in the front row in cheaper seats and they were great as the stage is not too high.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten August 14, 2024
- SeamusOakville, Canada1,722 contributionsExcellent VenueA fantastic venue. Barely more than intimate, there truly isn’t a bad seat in the joint, from upper balcony to front row. I was impressed not just by the sight lines, but the quality of the audio system - even whispers are heard from the stage. Lighting is also extremely effective, highlighting everything as directed. We happened to catch an evening showing of Anne of Green Gables, but I cannot add to the rave reviews below. It was memorable. One tip: ticket ranged from about $50 for a front row seat to $90 for balcony. The reason we were given? In the front rows you have to look up over the orchestra. Don’t believe it. Save your money and buy a front row seat.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten August 22, 2024
- Meg M3 contributionsJersey Boys ShowThe Jersey Boys Musical was incredible! The vocals on each performer and the visuals onset were all amazing. I would highly recommend this fun, upbeat show to anyone. Very happy my mom and I were able to catch this amazing performances while visiting PEI, it was a highlight of our trip.Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten August 27, 2024

This place has a little bit of everything. You can take in a show, look at the art, buy something from the shop, get information, rent a space to use, have a bite to eat or have a drink, there is a art studio attached, or hang out and catch up with a friend in the lobby or in their amazing outdoor spaces. They have an outdoor show in the summer which always entertains people.

Three of us attended the Center to see one of the preview nights of Tell Tale Harbour. The venue was very busy and we had some issue upon arrival determining what line to use to find our seats from the lobby. It was very busy with everyone arriving at the same time, there was some construction, and it was our first time visiting the space and hadn't thought to review the floor plan.
Once we knew where we were going it was great, staff were very helpful finding seating and making sure we had programs, or digital download programs as desired. The show itself was great, it may have been a preview night but it felt like it could have been part of the regular run, the actors and crew seemed to understand all of the cues, there weren't any obvious errors or guffas.
The women in our party were extremely impressed with the washrooms, there were a large number of stalls so even at intermission the line never stopped moving and everyone cycled through very quickly.
On another trip we will have to return to explore the exhibits in the other sections of the building.
We did make a brief stop to see the recreation of the chambers from Province House, the staff were a wealth of knowledge about the space, the history of the island, and general news of the area.

My daughter and I went to Anne of Green Gables the Musical here. The staff were kind and helpful. The accessibility options were easy to find and use. The inside of the theater didn't have many accessible seats, but the stairs were large and shallow and easy to navigate on a cane.

So as museums go. This one is solely based on Island Artists which is nice but variety would definitely be welcome. The staff are amazing. The curator is a blast. She is worth the stop alone. As for the art. Some is not exactly what we would consider art in the general sense of the word.

I might have thought their historic walking was more interesting had it not been held in a downpour of heavy rain. I went with a group and one of the people I attended with said she had called and was told the tour would be indoors in heavy rain. We were told only after we arrived they we could have postponed and attended another day but we were a group and schedules were varied. Long story short we stood on a downpour of rain & listened to a 75 minute monologue. Nothing about the women who advanced Confederation & nothing about the Irish or Scottish.

Went to see "Old Stock" on Aug 19, 2021 with Family & Guest . We left all very disappointed with the play.
It was Very Hard to follow the dialogue, and we all left without knowing what the story line was all about, except for what we read about it before hand.
The main character was a good actor, but for some reason we couldn't even follow along with most of his songs to know what the words were.
The volume seemed fine and at times was too laud with the music>>>but the voices all appeared to be muffled from either the sound system or some other unknown reason. Our seating was fine and age of group was from 35 to 64.
If I had of been there alone, I would have left after 15 minutes.

We went in almost by accident. We were looking for the recreation of the room where they held the Conference of Charlottetown in 1864. We have found it and had the pleasure to watch a very interesting small movie explaining the event. We have loved it and the we moved to the painting exhibition of Canadian artists sponsored by the Sobey family. If you like painting exhibitions and are in Charlottetown, it is a “must visit”

Saw the Anne play and it was amazing. Both the adults and the kids loved it (my kids laughed so hard and talked about it for WEEKS after). Absolutely worth it if you're at all a fan of Anne of Green Gables.

We booked the Great George walking tour (offered by the Confederation Centre) about an hour before it departed at 10 am--and were delighted to find that we were the only ones on it. Our guide was fabulous! (Sorry, I can't recall her name, but she had just gotten married, so I hope she recognizes this when she reads it!) She told us so many stories about the history of the area and the people... it added a lot of context to our visit. Answered a lot of our questions also. Highly recommend this tour. Thank you!!

We were able to get tickets to this wonderful production, which was walking distance from our hotel. Fabulous theatre and production. If you’re coming to town, please consider going. I actually purchased the Cows hilarious T-shirt riffing on the comedy play in the lobby.
We also attended the lecture on the formation of the Confederation. Also excellent.

Est-ce que les rénovations du centre sont terminées? Sinon, à quel moment pourrons-nous visiter à nouveau ?

We have tickets to Anne on 8/21 evening. Staying at Comfort Inn in Charlottetown. How far to theatre and is there parking. Does anyone know if Connecticut handicapped tag is acceptable on PEI or NS?? Thanks!
Written August 14, 2017
We found parking on the street but I'd get there early to find a spot. I'm not sure about the tag.

really no bad seats. It is a very nice theater with recently updated seating. towards the middle is always preferrable and I prefer the lower level over the balcony.

Is the Anne of green gables musical appropriate for a 3 and 5 year old? Will they be bored?
Written January 20, 2017
I think they would enjoy it because the seats are soooo comfy. Also, the musical will entertain them.

I see you have transportation to the airport, and wonder if that would be available for a 6:05am flight departure?
