we tried the Cows ice cream because of all the hype and wanted to try it cause it was local and others liked it. We did not really think it was anything special and have eaten way better ice cream at home from the Foothills brand in Alberta and also at the Dutchman Dairy in Sicamous B.C now that is special ice cream as well as Tickleberrys on route to the Okanagan. We thought it was expensive and very small portions. well we at least tried it so to each his own

During our roadtrip of Maritime Canada we have become addicted to Canadian ice-cream but hadn't tried Cows Creamery until today. Well what a disappointment, the flavours aren't strong, the waffle cone is so hard it can break your teeth & it's expensive.
The tour of the "factory"was something & nothing.
Really just don't bother with it, choose a more local ice-cream stand. The one in Souris is brilliant.

We stopped at the large store with the little self guided museum in it. There were many excellent ice cream flavours to choose from. The staff were friendly and the ice cream was good.

There's a gift shop, a t-shirt making room where you can order a custom made t-shirt, a room with a tv that shows the information/history about the Cows. You can get ice cream here too.

There's a free self guided tour. You can see a room with a large window showing people working on making the ice cream there. There are information displays on the walls. There are tvs that display information as well. There is a large window that looks into the cheese storage room. There's another large window that looks into the custom t-shirt making room.

Short and interesting tour.

We also bought some cheeses and ice cream in the small containers. There was a BOGO sale for the appletree smoked and cloth made cheeses. It was a deal, so we bought lots to eat and to give as gifts. We bought the blueberry and strawberry ice cream containers.

We spent a total of $68.50.

The tour is free. You get to see ice cream and cheese made. There's a gift shop on site as well as a place to try the ice cream. I got Nanaimoo Bar flavor

We drove specifically from Cavendish beach with 4 kids to show them an ice cream factory. It was a useless waste of time. Nothing to see. Nothing going on. There was a short video with a minute of history of the business and mostly marketing. It is just a big merchandising gimmick. After doing the "tour" I refused to spend a cent there.

There really is no tour, just three windows onto production facilities. One for the ice cream (a couple of people at a small machine) one to the cheese storage room, and the largest to the t-shirt factory. There is also a movie about COWS. Largest part is the merchandising store, with crazy loud music. And of course, the counter selling very good ice cream. More of a retail experience, and less of an educational or entertaining one.

Tour is a little disappointing as you don't really get to see much of the production. Nice place to get t-shirts - you can even get "custom" ones made from a catalogue of logos that is available for choosing - and of course you have to get ice cream while you're there. Nice selection of flavors.

This a must-see during your visit to PEI. Cows makes some of the best ice cream I have ever tasted. So creamy. Many people have commented that this is really not a "tour". There is a short video, and then you walk through the building on your own. There are windows you can look in and hopefully see them making ice cream. You can also see the production room where they make their famous t shirts. Gift shop is great. Overall a fun stop on your trip!
