We were part of the Trolley Tour. The Guide was also the driver and he did an excellent job of giving us interesting facts and stories of the Charlottetown area. As a tourist, I would recommend this tour as a base to get started of all things Charlottetown! Excellent tour!

Family of five enjoyed this trip around Charlottetown on a rainy afternoon. A perfect way to learn about the area and see some sights when the weather is poor to show you where to go when it clears up! The driver and the tour guide were great!

We had a great tour on land and water with Harbour Hippo tours downtown Charlottetown. The captain, Chad, and guide, Lily, were personable and charming. Tidbits of history, interesting facts and places to visit were shared. I wish there had been a bit more of the Charlottetown and PEI history shared and a little less about alcohol consumption (champagne at confederation, prohibition round-snouts, etc). Overall, we had a great one hour tour and I would recommend it to others visiting as well.

We booked this trip on our tour of Canada. We book at the kiosk in Charlottetown for the first trip the following day. Turning up bright and early, there was no sign of anyone. We waited and waited until eventually we found someone inside the food hall, working on the stall for the Harbour Hippo. She said that the trip had been cancelled because of a high tide which made it unsafe (Fair enough). She said that I'd been called the previous night to tell us that it'd had been cancelled (No I hadn't). We rebooked as we wanted to go on the trip. I questioned why we had to pay again and not just have tickets transferred onto the new journey. The girl said that we'd already been refunded. As we're from the UK and I don't do mobile phone banking I had no way of checking this until we got home. You know what's coming next, don't you? Yes, no refund and so we'd paid twice. I obviously immediately contacted the company by email and they asked for more details, which I gave. Then, even though I sent through other emails, there's been no response from them. I have been in touch with my credit card company to try and rectify this but it has taken time and effort which could so easily have been avoided if the company hadn't cheated us out of money and then ignored our requests for a refund. Holidays are expensive enough without being cheated out of money. It was really disappointing and has left us really unhappy with the service that was given. Poor show.

We were visiting Charlottetown for a family reunion. Six of us took the Hippo Tolley tour. It as a wonderful experience! A reasonable price for a 30 minute tour. Our tour guide balanced the history, tourism and humour! The sound system was great! We found ourselves sharing what we had learned with our other family members! We all would highly recommend this tour!

The tour started out great. Lots of interesting information-the kind of thing I love to learn coming to a new city. However, once we hit the water less than 1/2 way through, they turned on music. There was no further information given for over 30 minutes!

Loved how knowledgeable and friendly our guide Lily was and Steve the driver was great. Great choice of music to play when going into the harbour. Came from Ontario and Charlottetown is beautiful. Highly recommended. husband is disabled (walks with cane-spine is fused) and had no issue thanks to the great driving of Steve.

I highly suggest the land and sea tour. Not only is goung from land to sea super exciting, the tour guides are very knowledgeable and super entertaining. Every time is a new experience and I learn so much about that beautiful city. Family of 5 cost $95 for almost 1.5 hour tour. Well worth the money! Don't forget your Cows ice cream down on the dock and some fries from the chip stand there beside booking hut. Best fries in the world!

We started planning in February for our great Charlottetown adventure with our daughter and our three grandchildren. To begin, we booked tickets to Anne of Green Gables. Next, we contacted Tourism PEI, for advice on an activity to participate in while in Charlottetown, and they recommended this attraction. We called Harbour Hippo about 2 weeks in advance, and were told to call one day ahead to make reservations. So we did that, and, after checking to make sure that there would be no charters the following day, they graciously accepted payment in advance for six people.

The next morning, we got the 6 people up a 5:30 AM to catch an early ferry from Nova Scotia. We arrived at the Harbour Hippo kiosk in plenty of time for our reservations, and were told that there will not be a 12:00 trip, since a cruise ship had arrived and booked a charter. We were, to put it mildly, livid; we were left with three very disappointed children (two 8-year and one ten-year old), and two hours to kill.

The owner called us at home later that day, offering free passes on the Hippo should we ever return to Charlottetown, but it is highly unlikely that we would ever do this, since apparently it’s not possible to include the Harbour Hippo in a schedule.
