A building as one would expect for the era.
Very nice to see the new garden recognising the Platinum Jubliee.
The grounds are very well maintained, although entry to house did not seem possible in June 2022

This is a must see. Here our country was born. Here I visited on the day our country was attacked. Here I witnessed the emotional toughness of Canadians. This is the Lieutenant Governor's residence. On a recent business trip to Charlottetown my colleagues and I were treated to dinner at the residence (which was delicious) and a tour of the facilities. We saw the Queen's quarters and the rest of this historical edifice. The Lt.-Gov. himself served tea and coffee and we were all grateful.

The guide was very friendly and enthusiastic. The tour was interesting and the building is in excellent condition. Wonderful to see some of the original furnishings and pictures. Stepped back in time and yet heard about the Queen and Prince William and Kate's visits.
Not obvious that it's open. Check the info inside the gate by the gatehouse.

This was one of the many old buildings that we saw while on our Horse drawn wagon tour, still in use to this day.

Exploring Charlottetown, we drove by the Government House. Open to the public, we strolled the grounds - enjoying the summer flowers and shrubbery. Worth the stop. Relax and enjoy the views.

We had a private tour that was very informative. The house is absolutely beautiful. We got to see the bedroom where the Queen and other royalties stay when they visit.

We went to the government house went it was raining and got a private tour because no one else was here. The guide was very nice and we learned a lot of information. It was a lovely house and I loved it. And best of all, it was all free! Did you know that the government house cost only 7000 dollars?!

First watch the video to get the important historical context then proceed upstairs and see the chamber and rooms where the events took place.

Walked around the beautifully manicured gardens then went inside to join a guided tour. Very knowledgeable guide and the house is exceptionally well maintained. Being Royalists this was a great day, we enjoyed seeing where Prince William & Kate stayed.

When you walk through this building, you feel like you're experiencing the "birthplace of confederation". There's a lot of history and the film that you the option to watch is very well done.
