The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialised Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.

Wonderful climbing gym, bright and clean. Staff is friendly, professional and attentive. Routes are changed weekly or more. Best climbing gym in Montreal! Good for bouldering, and a weight / workout room as well.

Friendly staff and vibe. Silo climbing was cool but only at certain times. Training/exercise room and moonboard included. It was quite cold inside (sorry we live in Asia!) but other than that a great family outing.

The kids, avid indoor climbers, had been talking about wanting to visit Allez Up even before we told them we were coming to Montréal, and they were not disappointed! Enormous climbs, inside and out, great staff and a great vibe. The kids persuaded to try it out, and I ended up going a second time. Day passes and and equipment rental were very reasonably priced, and the children were able to convert their US top-rope/belaying certification converted/recognized with a simple test.

We went to Allez up while we were visiting Montreal and we were not disappointed!!! We are regular climbers at our gym and love exploring new ones around the world. We had heard that they were in the top 10 world wide for climbing so we had to go. The place is very clean and well kept. The walltopia wallz are always amazing and they did a great job keeping the holds not greasy and clean. The staff and shop were very nice! The only downside is that we went in the winter so there was salt and snow water all over the entrance and we weren’t able to climb on the outside of the sugar silo. Would love to visit again!

Very helpful staff, I climb here every now and then and love it. A good choice of difficulties with more difficult climbs than easy but with that being said, still a good place for newcomers or one-time visits for those who want to try. Bouldering and self-belay climbs available and great. Clean with toasty heated floors and outdoor climbs during the summer up the silos is fun and a great fear factor-inducing experience.

Coming from Boulder, CO, I wouldn't consider myself a strong climber in the least, but a capable one. I just wanted to get my workout here while in Montreal given the amazing food here in the city. Took my kids here as well to do some bouldering with me. The set up is quite nice with the three distinct bouldering areas, especially the outside area next to the silos. Route setting is leaning more toward beginner to intermediate V2-V6 having the majority of problems, which was perfect for me. I think if you are in the higher V ranges, the selection will be somewhat limited. Staff was very friendly as well.

Great place. Clean and very "new" feeling. Of special mention were the staff. They were great in Eng & Fr and were especially helpful. Loved the bouldering and high walls. It's a great facility and I would recommend it to others.

If rock climbing is on your bucket list and you find yourself in Montreal, Allez-Up will allow you to check it off the list. First-timers (like myself) should start with bouldering. The wall is only 20 feet high - as opposed to 100 feet high for experienced wall climbers. You get a brief instruction period about the levels of difficulty and the best way to maneuver your way up the wall. There are no harnesses in bouldering. Falling on safety mats below should be expected. So be okay with that. Rock climbing/bouldering really is a test of full-body strength and how you're going to scale the wall. I saw people of all ages and varying body types. So if you're athletic and you want a challenge, go for it!
