The MMFA is one of Canada’s most visited museums and the eighth-most visited museum in North America, boasting more than 1.3 million visitors. The MMFA's original temporary exhibitions combine various artistic disciplines – fine arts, music, film, fashion and design – and are exported around the world. Its rich encyclopedic collection, distributed among five pavilions, includes international art, world cultures, decorative arts and design, and Quebec and Canadian art. The Museum has seen exceptional growth in recent years with the addition of two new pavilions: the Claire and Marc Bourgie Pavilion, in 2011, and the Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion for Peace, in 2016. The MMFA complex includes Bourgie Hall, a 460-seat concert hall. The Museum also houses the Michel de la Chenelière International Atelier for Education and Art Therapy, the largest educational complex in a North American art museum, enabling the MMFA to offer innovative educational, wellness and art therapy programmes

There is something for everyone, and too much to see all in one visit. The decorative arts section was interesting for us.

Traditional and not so traditional displays ... I did like the Dyson exhibit as Art. I agree actually. Multiple areas in several buildings, so it will take awhile to cover it all.

My children are not always enamored with museums, but we all agreed that the art exhibits and special exhibits here are outstanding, and a must see. Learned alot about Picaso in the special exhibit this visit.

This is an awesome museum filled with eclectic and electric gadgets to amaze and amuse the entire family! Prices should be lower, but someone has to pay the bills!

A very interesting building. We saw a great temp show on Picasso. The rest of the museum is interesting but the art is nothing compared to some of the other North American museums. Worth a visit but don’t expect much.

It depends on how much you like art, but if you do at all you will probably find something you like. There are many paintings by famous artists through the centuries, but probably not their best works. The best works are probably by people you...More

I enjoyed the museum but was surprised that the collections weren't more impressive for Montreal. One visit was enough for me.

Go early and stay late, so very much to see here. We took advice of ticket seller and opted for the basic ticket since it was our first visit. From ancient to ultra-modern, something unique for every art lover.
