Fun place

Good beer selection, friendly staff, busy but relaxed atmosphere. Bonus points for playing movies in the background (and they were comic book movies to make it even more awesome).

My favorite bar in Montreal. Winter is warm and inviting. Summer sitting outside with the breeze and people watching fun! Can get very crowded..but isn't that the fun of being in a bar. Multiple bars to make it easier to quickly order. Great men's bar. Terrific regular crowd. IT is in the Village..and one of the best Gay establishments.

Always hot men here and so much fun. Got to keep coming back for more. GRRRRRR This is the epitome of a gay Montreal bar. Wonderful patio in summer for watching the world go by and the upstairs is fun if you just want to sit and watch quietly while everyone else is busy cruising.

You need To have at least one drink and see the Montreal gay life and enjoy tons of hotties of every age and every size. This is what I liked more about this place. And bartenders are very hot

The Eagle has been renovated and the crowd is crazy with a lineup to get in but once inside the furry Quebec men are still as hot as ever! The bartenders are the main attraction working hard and generating a sweat not just on themselves but also on all those watching. Stand back and enjoy the scenery and who knows... More

We have been to a great many bars like this around the world and this one looked good but the bar man that night (17th September) was extremely rude and made it very clear by ignoring us that he would not serve us. We did not have this experience in any other bar in Montreal and we won't be going... More

Spent a few days in Montreal with a buddy. We were at L'Aigle Noir daily, if not twice a day. Staff are really friendly and great choice of brews

We spent the better part of an evening here talking to the locals and enjoying a nice selection of local beer. Prices are reasonable. There is an upstairs catwalk area, a back bar, a pool table and small dance area. Its a very comfortable place and easy to make friends here. Def not a leather bar like other eagle named... More

THE AIGLE NOIR HAS NOW BEEN GENTRIFIED BY THE NEW OWNER. Here's what happens when a classic LEATHER BAR is sold to a new owner that just doesn't get it. It looses it's identity and appeal and alienates the previous twenty five years of clientelle. I walked into the Aigle Noir last weekend and could barely recognize the place the... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
