You can say all you want about this place, but it stood the test of time and it is "One of the best venues" to come in groups for Karaoke. Don't expect much there, it's just beer and shots and some cocktails on the Menu. It's loud noisy and a lot of fun if you can handle it :) Fill... More

I have been working and frequenting bars for a very long time. Never in all the years of running bars and being a guest in a bar have I ever been treated so horribly. This random guy (customer) comes up to me and requests to pat me down because his friends phones were stolen. Mind you I have not even... More

You are lucky if you'll end up singing once after spending 4 hours there and blowing over 100$ on booze. The regulars get preferential treatment by DJ Annick. They show up at 1:30 and miraculously pass within ten minutes... And we poor loosers who have been there since 23h00 get to watch them skip in line. This place has only... More

Our second visit to Montreal and second trip to karaoke night at Club Date in the gay district. Regardless of your sexuality or gender, if you're looking for a fun and relaxed evening in Montreal, this is recommended. Great atmosphere and the host of the karaoke is a friendly guy who is fantastic at keeping things running smoothly. Don't worry... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
