About
The world's tallest inclined tower serves up spectacular views of Montreal and surroundings areas. In just two minutes, its glassed-in cable car will whisk you 175 metres up to the Observatory. From this unique vantage point high in the Montreal sky, you can see up to 80 kilometres away in every direction: the mountains, the St. Lawrence River, Donwntown Montreal, its skyscapers and the Mount Royal. The Souvenirs of 1976 exhibit will take you back in time to (re)live the Montreal Olympic adventure-from the project's tentative beginnings to today, when the flame still burns.

Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.

This tower was built for the Olympics and is now part of the stadium in the big park here. You can see it from afar, it's on the skyline. Not especially pretty, just tall.

High tower. Easy accessible, not expensive. There are offices in that building. We recommend going and visiting on nice days so visitors will have a great view. Easy to access by underground.

The Olympic Park is a bit away from everything else we saw in Montreal. There was no wait, so we got up to the top quickly. The views are nice - it's a good place to get an overall impression of where everything is in the city. We really wanted to go to the Biodome, but it is being renovated and won't be open until some time in 2020. Not much to do after visiting the tower.

This was such a nice afternoon trip! It was fun learning about the Olympics and topping it off the the fantastic views from the tower was really great. Its a neat ride up the tower with the glass front and the top has 360 degree views so it is not lacking on enjoyment.

The Montreal Tower has a unique shape and is simply awesome. It is situated close to the former summer Olympic stadium. The lift was undergoing some repairs on the day that my family visited. But had taken the lift to the top, a few years ago and was flabbergasted by the surrounding views. Certainly would very highly recommended visiting this tower to anyone.

Visited the Olympic Park and took ride to top of Tower on funicular style lift which is glass fronted and gives great views as it climbs the tower. A large 360 dehree viewing gallery and as we had clear day views were superb. Large gift shop at top and plenty of exhibits at ground level to remind of the names of gold medallists in 1976. Good to see pool is being used daily by locals and very popular. Parking available in many large car parks but we used Botanical Gardens car park and did joint visit which at CAN $81 for two was very reasonable.

What a great view! Enjoyed going up to the observatory! Low cost as well :)
The only downfall was that it seems that some updates and renovations could be done, otherwise it was great!

We had a really hard time finding the entrance to the tower! All the doors we tried were locked but we could see people inside! We finally gave up & just went in to see the Olympic pool (which was great) & stumbled upon a walkway to the tower! The attendant was lovely - smiling & gracious. The ride up the funicular was most interesting. At the tower we walked all around, looked through the free telescopes, & of course visited the gift shop. Another kind attendant helped us get the free picture to email to ourselves. We had, besides the door search drama, a nice day that involved a subway ride, a walk, & a ride up to a great view - all good things.

Olympic sites are worth the visit, and the tower affords great views of the area in addition to being an architectural wonder in its own right.

As others stated make sure you go on a clear day. It is a quick ride up and there are many places to get different views of Montreal. However, it is on the outskirts of the city and with the insectarium and planetarium under going renovations there isn't much else to do in the area except the botanical gardens.

The tower and stadium them selves are an amazing sight, but if you don't have a lot of time I am not sure it is worth the trip.
