Even though everything was white with snow, the experience was incredible. The Ferris wheel is new and modern, completely safe, goes around several times (not just once), and stops spinning at times to enjoy the view and take photos. The ticket is a fair price and it's worth going to this attraction. Parking is a little complicated to get to, as it is located on a pier, but there is the option of a paid parking lot nearby, and you can get to it on foot.

This is a ferris wheel. I know a ton of citites have ferris wheels now. But this one has a spectacular view. It really was not that expensive for the two of us- there was no line, it is climate controlled, the windows are clearly cleaned thoroughly every day as they were so incredibly clean and clear it made for spectacular photos. We went around three times for our ticket. We thought about going again at night to get sunset photos but ended up doing a different excursion instead. Beautiful.

While visiting the Old Port) it's hard to miss the towering Ferris wheel, La Grande Rou de Montreal. The view can never be better, enjoy the thrilling view of Old Montréal, the city center, and the St. Lawrence River on the highest Ferris wheel in Canada, La Grande Roue de Montréal.
42 climate-controlled cabins gently lift riders nearly 200 feet and go through three revolutions on this 20-minute ride. I know, I know, only 3 rides, but I guess 15 mins is good enough.
There are 2 types of cabins-
1-Cabins that seat up to eight,
2-Gondola- A spacious VIP cabin, which is equipped with a glass floor and Italian leather seating for four riders. There are also lots of food trucks if you're craving poutine, cotton candy, ice cream, or other small bites.

It's fun to go at night because of city lights and skating rink are all lit up, however this ride is expensive for the experience. We went because we were first time visitors, however I would not pay to go a second time. It's just "OK" in my opinion. Not bad, but nothing too special either. The wheel is pretty to see at night. I enjoyed the view of it from a distance as much as I did the ride.

We went on the Ronde in April after a freak snow storm so it was not busy at all. You get great views and we had a 6 seater cabin to ourselves (just 2 of us).
There is a lot of stuff around here for kids to day, although it was all closed (and snow covered) when we were there. There was a nice cafe that was open.
Cost is $25/person but you get 3 rides around, about 20 minutes. I’ve seen complaints here that it is on 2 rotations so maybe they shorten it up in the summer.

Went on this on a Monday night while it was dark. It was a decent ride with the 3 loops and very smooth. I was in a pod by myself as it was not at all busy. As I don’t know Montrèal at all it was pretty to see the city lights but I had no idea what I was looking at. There was a monitor in the pod so I wonder if they sometimes have commentary or something because that was the one thing I wished there was. All in all a good little ride and I’d go again

I really loved getting on La Grande Roue my first day in Montreal. It gave me an opportunity to really get a feel for the city and know where things were (including myself!) It was a great first day activity for sure!

It is part of Old Port and Promenade at St Lawrence river and you cannot miss it. When we visit the area it was a crowd there so we decided not to wait for a ride. But I can imagine it could be nice to see the city from it's top.

Great ride with views of Old Montreal and the river and port. Comfortable, no sense of motion, heated and clean. Best to go around sunset, less crowded, we had our own gondola to ourselves. Three revolutions, could've gone 10 more.

Do you need to have pre booked tickets if visiting in the evening? Thanks
