We checked out this amazing giant ferris wheel on one of the hottest, most humid days in August. I was a little worried because i can't tolerate hot temperatures very well. It was over 30 degrees. Standing in line was painful, it seemed to go very slow and there was no shade. the staff were pleasant and working as fast as they could but it seemed the limiting step was the credit card transaction speed. We were able to wait in another line to get onto the Ferris Wheel (thankfully in the shade). They were very careful about cleaning/ disinfecting the individual cabins. It was nice cause we got our own and didn't have to share with anybody. The cabins are air conditioned, however because it was such a hot day it was inevitable that the temperature inside would rise - it was 22 degrees when we first got in and after 2 rotations it was up to 24 and I was feeling stuffy! It was confusing as we didn't get any instructions on how many times it would go around and there was a button on the ceiling you could push however we weren't sure if this was for emergency or if we wanted to get let off. There is also an emergency phone number you can call but my phone was out of battery so I felt momentary panic. Thankfully once the button was pushed they stopped for us to get off the next go round. The staff explained it is typically 2-4 revolutions depending on how busy they are. The views were impressive however if you are claustophobic at all, scared of heights, or temperature sensitive do not recommend this in very hot weather. The views are spectacular so worth doing at least once if you are visiting and don't mind the other factors. We couldn't take good pictures of downtown due to the glare of the sun in the mid afternoon in summer so suggest if you want pics of this to go in the am.

It was an amazing experience I'm so glad that i was able to experience this even though it was the coldest day ever that day it was a beautiful experience. The view from up on the wheel was beautiful, got to see so many beautiful landmarks while being on the ferries wheel. It is a must to experience and seem, its really comfortable and what i liked about it as well is that its closed your in a gondola not out in the open and it is spacious you can fit quite a few people in the gondola.
I actually plan on going back with a few friends in the summer that way they can experience this wonderful experience. Its a beautiful ferries wheel even in the winter as well. I went with my teacher and my classmates and it was a great experience to experience it with them.

I went with a group of my classmates studying for Hotel Industry.
The gondolas were heated up as we got on site which was perfect for the extremely cold weather that we were having the day we visited.
Fast service on our ride and plenty of helpful staff!!!
We had the ride on the Grande roue for free as we were a class and had a huge group of people tagging along. I would definitely recommend Grande Roue for any tourists and for anyone that lives here that would like an experience on the Ferris wheel. We went in the daytime but i would recommend going at night as well because the Ferris wheel lights up.
it was a wonderful experience that i would love to try again.
Tickets sell for $20 but its definitely worth it!!!

We were lucky to get here at a less busy time and didn't have to wait for more than a few minutes between queuing and getting onto the wheel. It is quite expensive but we did get three cycles of the wheel to view Montreal and the Saint Lawrence river.
If you have the money it is quite worth the experience just for the views of the city and river.
The waiting times were quite varied during thee time we were in Montreal, at times I saw quite a big queue both at other times there was no one waiting at all.

Wonderful experience! Even though we were there on the coldest day of the year the cabins are heated and the pictures you can capture from the large glass windows all around are superb! At the very top you get a spectacular view and it goes slow enough to take in all the sights around you. Staff was very kind and accommodating.
I visited with my classmates and teacher as part of a class activity to know our city and it's main attractions however I am looking forward to return in the near future with my family and appreciate the sights at sundown. Thank you for an enjoyable experience!

We went on a relatively quiet, late September evening. $29 CAD per person is a bit expensive for a short ride, but I cannot deny that the nightline of the city is worth the money.; and imagine the engineering and logistics of such a structure. The compartment is enclose and ventilated, very comfortable even on a windy night. The equipment are clean and the plexiglass window allow for a clear viewing, no greasy fingerprints. Overall, a very enjoyable experience

And Montreal's didn't disappoint. We bought tickets in advance, but in February, there were no queues anyway. We went round about five times and enjoyed the stupendous views over the city. The Grande Roue is easily accessible down by the waterfront and there were lots of other attractions in the same location.
The prices are very reasonable and the cabins are heated and individual. You get great views over the St Lawrence River and all around.
We'd certainly recommend this for everyone - young, old, families, singles!!

Built in the Old Port for the 375th anniversary of Montreal foundation, the ferris wheel, with it's 200 ft height, his the tallest of this kind in Canada. The view is simply remarkable. On the west side, the visitor can see the downtown & the city's skyscrapers. And on the east side, the visitor has a tremendous view of the Jacques Cartier bridge and of the Old Port Clock tower. The ride lasted for about 20 minutes (3 full rotations) inside a comfortable cabin all for the price of 28$. Add to the fact that the personnel was as friendly as professional & you have all the ingredients for a well time spent.

Too expensive, north of 30 CAD for a single person and about 3-4 revolution only and most of it are just waiting for other passengers to get in and out, well I never experienced taking a ride and wanting to get out sooner. The gondola is good, moves swiftly and the panels were clean and wide, takes 8 seats at a time. The city line of Montreal is just ok, not a lot to get excited for. By comparison, Niagara Falls is shorter but 60% cheaper, and comes with great bundles.

The Ferris Wheel is entirely enclosed – reminded me more of a ski gondola with seats. There are seats for 6 in each car. Your ride consists of 3 slow turns with stops near the top. There is plenty of time to enjoy the view and to take some great pictures. It is quite expensive and I am not sure it is worth that price, but again, you do get some great views.
