Rich people. Everywhere. The richest part of Montreal sure doesn't make any effort to hide it. The homes here are crazy big, the park is extravagant, even the library looks posh. The shops are generally over the top expensive. But it's a nice area to walk through. Very peaceful. The part on the mountain, north of Sherbrooke is actually quite... More

It really is amazing to find this well manicured, beautifully maintained English village in the heart of Montreal. Walk around the square with the City Hall, classy apartment buildings, Selwyn House private school, and the impressive war memorial. Then go to the beautiful public library, the park, and the greenhouse. Plenty of good restaurants along Sherbrooke Street, near the library.

I love Westmount Parc as much as any place in the city. Great library, beautiful attached atrium with greenhouse (a fine place to warm up. smell the flowers, maybe read on a sunny late fall or winter day). In nice weather, the Parc is a great place to sit and relax, stroll, people watch (from soccer games to the playground... More

Westmount is an affluent, refined area that's only a short walk from downtown. Just let yourself wander around the area for a while and admire the well-preserved (and eye-wateringly expensive) properties or window-shop the trendy boutiques. There are plenty of cafes along the way too - try La Brioche Doree on Greene Street.

Westmount is that place that makes people who don't have much money feel it. Still, it's picturesque, and Westmount Park is wonderful. The library is also a gem.

How does one review a city? The City of Westmount is a city on the Island of Montreal. The Island of Montreal has several cities (including the City of Montreal) which make up the Montreal Urban Community area. You would think that Westmount was part of Montreal...but it is not actually part of the city. It is worth a drive through to admire its gigantic homes, the different style of architecture increasing in size and grandeur the higher up the mountain you go. Many famous and influential people live within its borders.
