Great tour!

My wife and I had our first visit to Montreal over a long weekend and decided a walking tour of Old Montreal would be interesting. Our tour consisted of a 1.5 hour tour of the eastern part of Old Montreal, a one hour break for lunch, and a 1.5 tour of the western part of the city. Our tour guide, Elise C, was great. Very friendly and super knowledgeable of not only the history of the city but also great recommendations for restaurants and other activities in the area. Even if you're familiar with the city, I think you'll learn new things on this fantastic tour. Highly recommended!

I did get some history...when I could hear Robert actually speak. I feel he should've stood in front of the group and spoke. He gave a lot of his own history and seemed like he didn't want to give the tour...since he said he is usually on a bus. 4 people disappeared in the middle of the tour. I feel another guide would've given this review more stars.

My guide was Elise and she was great! Interested on what we were interested in. I did both the morning and afternoon tours and really loved the old Montreal.
However I was expecting a greater tour, for me it felt short. We stayed sometimes just talking in some places and it felt like it was a bit passing time. I would love that there would be more explanation of Montreal’s history.
Honestly the morning tour would be enough as the afternoon one was a bit boring.
All in all it is a great way of getting to know the old town and catching some recommendations on restaurants and bars. Some good curiosities were also given to us.

Vanessa was a super guide, answering all our questions, kept things moving & kept track of wanderers. Lots of info & sites packed into 90 min. We couldn’t find her at 1st, but someone answered the phone & we were just 100m from her! (Maybe she needs a sign!?)

The morning tour with Joanne was amazing . She gave us so heaps of information and made the tour very interesting.
The after tour with Robert was absolutely shocking. He apologised as he had never done the tour before but to be honest we were disgusted that the tour continued and we were charged . It was evident he didn’t know what he was doing. Four members of the group left which shows a sign it was not just us. It was painful and not professional.
It was a shame as Joanne’s your int he morning was brilliant. She said she didn’t understand why she was t Doug. The afternoon tour as she was taken off it . Not a good move from the tour company

We will be taking the Old Town East and West tour in May and driving up from Upstate New York. Where do you find a place to park in the area we need to meet in? Not familiar at all with Montreal. Directions would be helpful in the city. Parking lots/pavilions? Street Parking?

You are driving up just for the tour? I would assume you are staying at a hotel. Use the hotel parking (most likely valet -- our hotel put our car in an off-site lot) and just leave the car there for your whole stay. This tour meets in front of the Notre Dame Basilica. You will have no trouble finding the church whether you are walking, taking the subway, or taking a cab. It is THE landmark in Montreal. The tour company provides specific information about exactly where to meet in front of the church, but even that won't be necessary. The guide sets up a little podium out front that is clearly marked. This will all seem a lot easier once you are in the city, than it seems right now while you're trying to imagine yourself trying to find your tour guide.

You likely will not have time for a meal with table service, but there are a couple of cafes near Notre Dame where you order at the counter and they bring your food to the table fairly quickly. We particularly enjoyed Espace Cafe and Espresso Bar. They have some particularly tasty hot paninis and the owner is super nice and welcoming.

We also offer the Old Montréal VIP, which is a 2-hour semi-private walking tour of 6 people max. We are a group of 6 who will docking on Saturday morning on Holland America cruise. We planned to stay 2 nights in Montreal as it is our first visit but we managed to pick the weekend of Grand Prix and cannot find a hotel!! Our option is hopefully a VERY good private tour guide who will pick us up at ship, show us some sights and get us to the airport that afternoon. Can this be accomplished?

My son is getting married the weekend of May 29,2015 and we have many guests going to the Montreal area for the weekend. We would like to pre-arrange a private walking tour on Saturday,May 30th at approximately 2:00 p.m. for 2 hours for between 10-25 of our guests.
