If you like creative cocktails and don't mind paying a little extra for a great experience, this is the place! Sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender while she made drinks, which was a lot of fun. Service was very quick and the staff were fun to watch, throwing in a few little tricks here and there while... More

Feels like a 1920's gin joint; makes amazing cocktails. Take time to read the whole menu. Decor is cool, service good. Even presentation is awesome, a cocktail made w Jack and honey came in a tiny ceramic beehive. Loved it.

Chemistry lab has never been so much fun! With two locations, a line of craft mixing syrups and a menu that is more like a syllabus published every semester, Le Lab is emerging as the authority on pre-prohibition cocktails. The bar is stocked with beakers, eye-droppers, tweezers and a variety of homemade infusions. Labtenders are knowledgeable and engaging with a... More

My friend and I found this place on a list of best happy hour spots in Montreal. It did not disappoint. We went on Wednesday around 5pm. The bartenders were very attentive and accommodate a variety of requests and allergies. When I did not like the first drink that I was served, the dedicated bartender made it his mission to... More

We had a good time here as we tried a couple of yummy cocktails. Our server was very helpful and offered us tastings of gin when she mentioned how good it was. It was very good and the gin cocktails were very refreshing. They offer some very unique combinations, I stuck with the more mainstream choices and I was not... More

Le Lab is a little off the beaten path, just east of St. Laurent but close to La Banquise if you need your poutine fix. The staff were great and engaging with the clientele. They know how to entertain as they mix the drinks and the cocktail menu is something else. At approximately 15$ per drink, it's pricey, but it... More

We went there early in the evening on a Saturday, and were greeted by the friendliest bartenders. I ordered a refreshing cocktail off the menu and my friend got a customized cocktail. They put up a fun show for us with all the bottle antics and we saw them make every cocktail with a lot of precision and attention. We... More

I visited with friends at happy hour, where the first two pages of cocktails are only $8. The drink list offered a variety of less typical flavor profiles, such as tea or lavender but also included classic favorites like flaming tiki drinks. This is a great place to go with friends as watching the unique drinks being made is entertaining... More

Three friends and I visited this bar early on a Friday evening (around 7:30), and there were plenty of tables available, but the small space filled quickly. There is a small food menu (meat and cheese plates, etc.) and a menu of happy hour drinks and other cocktails that are consistently available. We each had two, and they were great!... More

The bartenders are really friendly and courteous, so is the waitstaff. They were able to recommend drinks based off of your likes if you aren't able to find something yourself. The drinks were great, especially the flaming ones. And good all around music too!

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
