Review of: Small-Group Quebec Wine Tour from Montreal
This felt like anything but a small group tour. With over twenty guests all with different personalities any feeling of intimacy is impossible. Ken was our guide. At the first winery Coteau Rougemont (half-day tour), the winery representative insulted the state my partner and I came from as "a place where New York sends their criminals", had us all stand in front of the winery doors without showing us around the fields, and couldn't answer direct questions about how many trees had been planted in sections of the winery and other basic questions. When we came inside for the tasting there was nowhere to sit. As we stood being told about the wines, multiple wines were described as coming from a bad vintage year and not as good as what previous years had yielded. Then why serve them to us?! They were talking down their own products and dissuading us from even trying them. Most of the wines we found sour and unappetizing but that is our own opinion. We were invited to take photos out the back doors of the winery but no time to sit. There were also no food pairings or tastings so that sour feeling continued in our stomachs on to the next winery. This stop (the second of two) was marginally better being greeted by adorable Labrador Rosie at Vignoble les Murmures. Though smaller this winery is run by a lovely couple and the tour and details given really show how they run this family business. Wines here were paired with cheese and smoked meats and we enjoyed this space much more. Poor time management came into play here as Ken allowed a small group of Instagram photo-hungry group members to convince him to extend our time at the winery by ~30 minutes. This was unfortunate as we missed plans made for later in the evening due to the delay. Do not plan anything close to the end time of this tour as the schedule is not respected. Overall this is something we would not choose to do again with this company and/or a tour of this size. We felt rushed, disrespected, and very very hungry.…

I really want to give Kava tours 5 stars, but our 9 hour tour ended up lasting almost 11 and a half hours causing us to miss our dinner reservation. Ken, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. However, he has some time management issues. The vineyards were beautiful and each vintner was outstanding explaining their particular process. I would absolutely recommend the tour, but I would caution you to avoid evening plans.…

Sabin made the half-day wine tour and interesting and informative afternoon. Guided wine tour operators usually have a thorough knowledge of area the which adds to the day. The choice of the two wineries was perfect. We met many nice people on the bus. Never feeling rushed , it was definitely a tour to be recommended. Notes : make sure to have lunch or bring food for the bus - also water.…
