Movie was good, to long though. The cinema was OK. Obliviously not like an Odeon or Guzzo cinema, but the price of the film was better, not a dollar in this case, but much less than a regular cinema, and the popcorn and drinks were way cheaper and just as good. The bathrooms left a little to be desired and it was really why they lost points with us. In this case we missed the Irishman when it was showing in Montreal late in November. We thought we wouldn't get to see the movie, but at that price we said what the hey. We would go again under similar circumstances.

First of all,the movies cost 2.50$ and all snacks and beverages are 1$. It don't understand why people are complaining.

There are three theatre rooms, two are like regular theatres only the chairs are not inclined so better hope no one sits in front of you (unlikely, as the rooms are never full). You don't want to be in the third room, it's small and the view of the screen is awkward. I saw another comment suggesting to call before in order to avoid it, which is a really good idea.

The movies playing are usually ones that have just stopped playing in theatres, so you can't mind waiting before seeing it. There are also special events where classics are screened. It's a good place for a date or an evening out with friends. There are places to eat close by so you can make a full evening out of it (I suggest Pushap for a really delicious and cheap meal, about a ten minute walk away).

That being said, Bernie (the owner) who seems to be there 24/7 is a very generous and lovely man with an unusual way of interacting with people, but it makes him all the more memorable. I really suggest checking this place out at least once! I've been five times and I've only had one not-so-great experience, when my film was projected in the small room.

There's only a small tv in front of 30 people in what seems like a closet (your nose might want to be protected from the gross smell of Johnny's armpit sitting next to you). Don't go there, stay at home and watch Netflix or go rent a movie!

It could have been good. There are two large, regular, normal, air-conditioned theatre rooms. Why couldn't our movie be in one of those!? Instead, we were put, along with about 25 others, into what appeared to be a converted janitor's closet that was hot and humid, with no air circulation or air conditioning. The "movie" was shown on a rear-projection television. If you even remotely fear being locked up in a hot, dark, humid closet, then this place isn't for you. Call first. Ask if the movie is being shown in the so-called small theatre. If it is, then stay home. As an aside, no receipt is given when you pay your entrance fee or buy popcorn. Very amateurish and sad.

My Husband and I usually attend Dollar Cinema with friends. It's conveniently located, and if you don't mind waiting for a current movie to play there a few months later, then this is the place to be.

Ticket prices are ridiculously cheap, unlike other cinemas. The seating in the small theatre is not so comfortable.

You can certainly enjoy a meal in Decarie Square too ....

Anyone fet up of 45 dollars for a movie and some snacks ? This is the place for you, who cares about the age of the theater, the seats were fine and so was the quality of the film. The sound setup is pretty reasonable too for a smallish theater. The movies that are played are just out of the newer bigger theaters. Was about to go watch Sully at cineplex and pay the nice premium for it but I waited a bit and not only did I get to see the same movie and have my snacks at a VERY reasonable price, we had a fantastic chat with Bernie before. If you're in the mood for a movie but don't care that you're watching a new flick on opening night check out Dollar Cinema! Thanks for the lovely night Bernie, we'll be back !

Inexpensive place to see a movie and eat snacks. Interesting venue. Bathrooms could be cleaner. Nice staff. Would go again.
