Half an hour tour is 53$ tax included if you enjoyed your ride a tip would be greatly appreciated.

Most driver's have been given the same course as a old Montreal tour guides.

Like everywhere there are a few that don't know there tour's.They are not bad drivers it's just that the city of Montreal stopped the obligatory courses that they used to give about 7 years ago unfortunately .

For a guided tour I suggest you give me a call and I will let you know exactly who to go see. Usually the drivers during the day are near the Notre Dame Basilica before 5 pm for a guided tour.

The best way to see Old Montreal is on a horse and buggy. Driver was knowledgeable and friendly. Just stop at the numerous horse carriages on the main street and ask for a ride. Not a bad price, either for 40 minutes. Driver even took multiple pictures of us in the buggy. Would have liked to take a picture of... More

We really enjoyed the horse drawn carriage ride around Old Montreal. The weather was perfect for the 40 minute ride. The driver was full of facts and interesting tidbits. The only drawback was a lot of noisey road construction.

I was a little hesitant about going on a caleche ride because of the negative things I had read about it. But after visiting Montreal, and seeing the caleche tours being given, I decided to try it. There were several carriages waiting near Place d'Armes and we were able to do a 40 min tour for $50 US plus tip.... More

Got to see the architecture of Montreal at the right speed. Much better than a bus in my opinion as it was from a fast walking speed. We took the hour tour from the basilica and it was totally worth it.

I had a tour of the old city from a horse drawn carriage and I had a great time. The driver told me all about how the old city was contructed. Pointed out a bunch of buildings and told me some great places to eat.

As part of the Old Montreal experience, my husband, his parents and I hired a calèche (horse and carriage) to take us through the streets of old Montréal last weekend. I have always been a bit uncertain about the use of calèche in such a large and congested city (given recent news on their call for banning them for safety... More

We've had several Caleche rides around the Port. Some drivers are very entertaining and tell a wonderful history of the area. I especially loved the after nightfall ride. I hope they don't discontinue this special event, but it's quite true, the horses need to be protected.

We are very pleased you enjoyed your tour. We won in court therefore the carriages are here to stay. All driver's and there horses are friends. Each driver get's only one horse to work with and this relationship is based on trust and compassion. If the horse is not well the vet will remove the horse from the street until... More

Staying in Quartier International

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention centre and retail space with a multi-coloured glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterise the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
