The commentary was informative and entertaining. Service on board was very attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend this relaxing view of Montreal for a different perspective - also less stress maneuvering through traffic and finding a parking space!

For about $29 CAD (included a AAA discount), we took a short cruise on the St. Lawrence River. The river tour comes with a French and English guide, dressed in costume, who provided a bit of history along the route. Both food and drink can be purchased from wait staff or via self service. We had a beautiful day, so... More

Never done this before , with another couple decided to avoid the bridges and parking of old Montreal we took the boat from Longueuil . An 8$ ride approx 20min will get you to Laronde , isle st Helen or old port , an excellent care free ride , every 1/2 hour from Longueuil till 9:30 pm and every hour... More

I booked the 4-hour evening cruise as a start to my vacation, and I brought a guest along with me. The name of the pier where we had to board wasn't clearly indicated so we had to figure it out on our own. When I saw the ticket booth I got in line, and when it was my turn the... More

Don't bother with this 90 minute boat tour, the boat seating is not conducive to viewing, many seats are just benches, I saw the server cover the fridge with the bottle water half way through and she told a customer they had no more water (not true) my guess is she was saving what was still in the fridge for... We booked ahead with Viator and that was so worth it. We got there a little early and had a drink. The service was so wonderful! The food was amazing! The entertainment was fabulous! There was 4 contortionist's! Absolutely amazing. Weather was perfect. After dinner everyone went outside and the show continued out there! Then there was music for dancing.... More

Unfortunately the weather took away a lot of what would otherwise been a good 90 minute river cruise. Got to see much of the highlights of the Montreal skyline from inside but that unfortunately took away the chance of any good photos. Food and drinks were good value and the boat was not at all full so that was definite... More

With 1000 people on the boat to watch the fireworks, it was pretty crowded and difficult to get a spot for a good view. Also, we thought 4 hours on this cruise was a bit too long. Food was average. Overall however, it was a pleasant cruise under the summer evening skies.

I booked a whale watching tour with Crosieres AML. It was an all-day tour leaving Montreal at 7am and returning around 10:30pm-11pm in the evening. While it was a long day, it was well worth it. We spent about 3 hours whale watching and saw belugas, breaching minke, and fin whales along with several seal sightings. It was a beautiful... More

We went on the 4 hour fireworks cruise with buffet supper last Saturday evening. We have done these fireworks / dinner cruises a few times before in years past, so we knew what to expect. Overall, everything was acceptable, however, not outstanding and we agreed that we would probably not do it again. Really not worth the cost (over $150... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
