We very much liked the performance of Aida. The sets were especially dramatic yet clean. the performances were excellent. The venue is well organized with easy parking and many places close by to "pre-game" (as it were) or to have a post event cocktail . We are looking forward to going to more of these.

Have been going to Opera de Montreal for many years and enjoyed most of their performances. Mostly they tend to do the standard operas but also venture into less traditional areas. Well worth going to a performance if in town.

The Montreal Opera is absolutely world class, and a fraction of what you would pay in New York. I was a member for years and would still be if I hadn't moved. Treat yourself and have an elegant evening out. * Subtitling for the operas is in BOTH French and English, and very easy to follow

We are opera lovers and therefore were pleased to have the chance to attend a performance during our visit. On a windy evening, we were very impressed with the ease of access to the building via the Metro. A free programme (you pay in England) plus comfortable seating, good front of house and a clear view added to the quality... More

This opera has not been seen for a long time. The set was very minimal but very effective for the subject which is very deep and dark. The lighting of the stage reminded me of Robert Lepage's efforts for the the Ring Cycle that was stages in New York City several years ago.the principal voices were very strong. This opera... More

This moderns style opera building lies in the cultural district of Montreal. Although it is large, acoustics are excellent and the comfort of the seats is beyond compare. Opera performed there are rather classical as far as I can tell.

I attended a performance of Bharati, a group of Indian Dancers(Bollywood). The music that set the evening were a traditional group of musicians, very good. However it was the dancers and the very beautiful and coloful costumes that made the show. If you ever get a chance to see this troupe, go and see them, what a joyous occasion.

We went to the Opera de Montreal on February 02nd 2013 (our first experience) to see La chauve souris (or Die Fledermaus) from Johann Strauss II. It was a gift I gave to my wife (and to me) so that we could try something new. It's not considered as an opera per se, but more an operetta (for me, I... More
