The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialised Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.

My girlfriend (now fiancée) loves escape rooms and we've played all rooms multiple times. I approached A/Maze a few weeks ago in order to incorporate a proposal that would surprise my girlfriend.
I was put in contact with Aliyah at Atwater and we connected through email and via text. She was nice enough to have me come by to see the room multiple times, even after opening hours and managed to constantly innovate and come up with great ideas for this proposal.
She worked diligently with her team in order to make this day magical for my girlfriend and I and we are forever thankful.
I would recommend A/Maze to everyone who loves fun, mind-picking escape rooms, with warm and welcoming staff. It's truly an amazing place (pun intended).

A very professionally executed experience with realistic looking environment to put you into the story of the game. The puzzles are well thought out and require some brain power to figure out. We had a great time and will go back to try other themed stories.

We are starting to get addicted to this place. Such a great fun. We came to play the lost temple, the laboratory and prison break in a row and it was mind-blowing. Thanks again to our Game Master Anakin who was a great support and really nice and fun with us all along.

Right in the middle of our game, 3 employees entered the room, with the stepladder to fix something. It completely ruined the vibe. Also, we asked not to give us a hint unless we asked. Which they didn't respected, we were disturbed twice in 30 minutes for this purpose.
At the end we made it in less than 30minutes, without hint! Zero for the vibe and for 70$

We came as a group of 4 to the Military Facility escape room and Phil was our game master. He was very enthusiastic and cool, we all loved him. The game was very amazing, fun, exciting and adrenaline rising. We all loved our experience there and would definitely go back to try another room. I 100% recommend the Amaze experience.

We came in with a group of 4 and did the Military Escape at Atwater. It was awesome, scary yet fun and exciting. It definitely wasn't the easiest game besides the 66% percent escape rate. I've done Prison break and The lab before and found it harder than the lab. Phil was our game master, great guy, super involved, definitely scared us a couple of times. Would definitely recommend!

This place opened just few month ago. Its relatively easy to access few blocks away from St Henri Metro station.
Its a perfect activity for teenagers or young visitors, though we had fun too. You choose one of the rooms/themes and get 45 min to find clues and solve the mystery.
You work in teams, we hot paired up with another couple so there were 5 of us in a room. Its pretty difficoult so we did not solve/found all the clues. Paid $20 per person,(different rooms have different rates). Best part was that our son had a blast.
Reservations are probably very much needed in tourist periods. We got in early Steven without. Good entertainment rhough ended up bit short.

Title sort of says it all. Over the course of a one hour room, the admin had to come in three times and fix things. All told, we probably spent 40-50% of our time trying to figure out broken clues. I understand that things break, but in each case, when he came in to the room he blamed out group for playing the game incorrectly. The bugs were fairly wide ranging, from faulty wiring, to props which hadn't been replaced correctly by the staff, to a motion sensor that simply didn't work - no explanation. In each case, the staff member blamed our group for the bugs rather than taking responsibility.

The rooms were very cool, and I'm a huge fan of mystery escape rooms in general, but I worry that with this institution, the poor customer service attitude might prevent them from fixing the source of the problems.

However, after a bit of arguing with the staff member, the manager did offer us unlimited free play, which is why I give them three stars rather than two. If they could fix the bugs, I would happily give Amaze Montreal five stars.

Hi We do apologize for your dissatisfying experience at A/Maze. We will address the issues you have mentioned with great emphasis. Hopefully we will have a chance to see you again to redeem ourselves because the opinion of an escape game enthusiast is always very important to us since being enthusiasts ourselves is the reason we started A/Maze. Thank you A/Maze

If you are like me and really enjoy the computer version of "escape the room games" then you will love this place. It is the real life version and it is 10x better than any online game you will find.

I went with a group of 4 friends and we attempted Prison break and escaped the Mad scientist scenarios. It was an incredible amount of fun.

The storyline is pretty cool and who doesn't like being placed in a small enclosed room with your closest friends (or enemies) and having to put your heads together to unlock clues and find the key to escape! A/maze requires a bit more thinking to figure out the clues rather doing more physical puzzles, but you have to work as a team!

I highly recommend this place and I would definitely return to try out more scenarios!
