I did the "Irish Famine Montreal Walking Tour" and it was very historic and well explained. Our tour guide Donovan King, did a great job explaining the history of the Irish Famine. He remarked many times that there should be historical plaque's or some kind of mention to what happened at the spots we toured. I ride my bike many times along the Lachine Canal in the summer and never realized what lay's below the ground. Also, there were many years that I wanted to visit the Black Stone Monument and on this tour it was part of the walk. This was my third walk with Haunted Montreal, along with Haunted Griffontown and Haunted Pub Crawl tours, they are all very informative. It won't be my last.
Thanks again.

Thank you so much for this great review, which I found was very thoughtful! It is true that there are no plaques along the Lachine Canal to commemorate the Irish who built it or the Famine Irish who died and were buried along its banks. Fingers crossed we can convince the authorities to do something! I am thrilled that you have attended three of our walks and hope to see you on another one in the future!

This ghost tour is very highly recommended. It began in a well-located place easily accessible by public transit. The tour guide (Don) spoke well and clearly. He walked us along the side of what is known as Mount Royal telling Ghost stories. It was a perfect setting at night walking along some dark trails in the woods. Not only were we learning of Ghosts but the very detailed history of Montreal and some of its inhabitants.
If you are looking to do something different, fun, and educational with a few good laughs I'd say book a Ghost tour as soon as you can. You won' regret it.

Thank you so much for this recommendation and review of our Haunted Mountain ghost walk! It is always a pleasure to host celebrities on our tours, such as yourself - DJ Ron Roxtar! I really appreciate you taking the time to write this and look forward to working with you on your upcoming project! All the best, Donovan

This was the pandemic-mandated virtual tour. My wife was participating via Zoom and I was in the kitchen washing golf balls. (Don't ask.) Ordinarily I put on headphones and listen to some music, but I got caught up in Donovan's narration and eavesdropped on the whole show! It was like listening to a radio broadcast in the old old days. He's got a terrific knack of spinning a yarn and slipping in a whole lot of well-researched information at the same time, along with just the right amount of b.s. appropriate to anecdotes about ghosts. Highly enjoyable!

Thank you for this great review! I am thrilled that my storytelling was able to distract you from washing golf balls in the kitchen! I also appreciate your description of my storytelling abilities and the feeling of listening to a radio broadcast in the old days. Much appreciated!

This Montreal ghost tour company has taken their spooky tours online.

I enjoyed a virtual ghost tour over the Halloween weekend, and it was a great experience - fun, with some frights, and a great way to learn about Montreal history!

From the legend of Simon McTavish's skeletal ghost haunting Mount Royal, to the famous and tragic story of Mary Gallagher (she is still looking for her head!), there's something here for everyone.

I have taken several of the walking tours over the years, and wondered how these tales would translate into a virtual experience, but the team has smartly woven together some of the city's best ghostly tales to create an experience you can enjoy from home, so it's just as much fun.

There is also a Q & A session after the tour, so the audience can learn even more about the stories they have just heard.

Definitely recommend checking this out!

Thank you for reviewing our Virtual Ghost Tour and for recommending it! It has been challenging to go online, but the formula of live storytelling, historical images and the Q & A sessions seems to have worked quite well, based on our reviews so far! We plan to offer more virtual experiences throughout the winter and as long as the pandemic prevents us from doing our regular programming of ghost tours, paranormal investigations and our haunted pub crawl.

Equal parts interesting Montreal history and paranormal experience, this was a delight to experience. You can really tell the guide was a history professor. I've been living in Montreal in 4 years and never really knew anything about its history, and this was a great way of learning and seeing the city, and especially Old Montreal, in a new light. Loved it!

For younger children, just be advised there are some gruesome descriptions of deaths, but if they're anything like I was as a child, I ate that stuff up.

Thank you, Bianca, for such a great review of Haunted Old Montreal! I have been working on this new tour for a long time now and we plan to launch it for our Halloween Season! I am so glad that you loved the tour and that it helped you to understand Montreal's deranged colonial history! We hope to see you again soon!

I took part in the virtual Haunted Montreal tour. last night
I heard entertaining, well-researched yarns spun around the history of Montreal. For anyone who's curious about the less obvious side of the city's history, the virtual tour is an excellent introduction.

Seeing the visual imagery of ghostly events from centuries ago which never could have be done on an actual tour made this a very different experience
The three chilling presentations were most illuminating in that this was a virtual tour ,
absolutely different in that the imagery was centuries old, violently graphic and with this guides acting ability left a squeamish chill tingling on my spine.
I found that great concentration was a must as the stories had intensive backgrounds coupled with curdling gruesome detail.
The hour plus of this enlightening event seem to take forever

Thank you for writing such a vivid review of our Virtual Ghost Tour! The ability to share images of haunted places that were demolished, like the McTavish Castle, is one of the advantages of attending a tour virtually. I am thrilled that you had such a spine-tingling experience and took the time to express your thoughts and emotions with this intense review! Much appreciated!

Perfect evening to curl up on the couch, make a nice dinner and have an amazing bottle of wine for $14.50. Not only did I learn a lot, the question and answer period was pretty cool as there were people from all over the world.

During Covid, this is the best $14.50 I have ever spent. I also live near one of the ghost stories, I walked by today and the building is still standing! Very cool!! Thanks so much for such an enjoyable evening! My pugs loved it too!

Thank you very much for this glowing review! It has been a steep learning curve to go online due to the Covid-19 epidemic and the Code Red Zone imposed on Montreal! I am so happy that you and your pugs enjoyed our new virtual experience - with a good bottle of wine, no less! Thanks again for writing such a sweet review!

I've always wanted to take one of the Haunted Montreal tours, but I haven't been in Montreal for several years. So when the opportunity came up to do a Zoom version, I jumped at it. The stories were terrific, and our host, Donovan, is a gifted storyteller. Looking forward to more!

I took part in the inaugural Haunted Old Montreal tour and am very glad I did. This is my third Haunted Montreal tour and they all offer well-researched spine-chilling tales of Montreal’s haunted history. An excellent addition to their tour itineraries and very convenient for tourists and locals alike.
