Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.

We got here a little confused as to how to gain entry then we sleuthed our way in. We descended into the beautiful prohibition style bar and got a table even though we didn't have reservations (make reservations ahead!). Fortunately we got there early enough to be seated without a headache. That is when the fun began, the cocktails, the murder mystery, the presentation and the clues. It'll make sense when you go. These were the best cocktail we had since getting to Montreal and I wish we could of kept it going but we had dinner plans. Would definitely recommend, it's worth the trip

I cant say enough about this place. My wife and I are classic cocktail fans and Le 4e Mur didn't disappointment. A classic speakeasy atmosphere which was very lively and exciting. The cocktails were delicious and served by very knowledge and friendly bartenders. By the time we left, we felt like we had been friends with the staff for years. Do yourself a favor. If you are ever in Montreal and a fan of classic cocktails, seek our Le 4e Mur. You wont be sorry! Reservations are recommended. Go to their website for more info! I cant wait to go back!

Really cool bar that had a line outside when we arrived which removed the mystery of a secret access. Was disappointed with how long it took us to get service seeing as it wasn’t near full when we arrived. Creative cocktails.

We were thrilled to find this place and excited upon walking in. Despite having a reservation they took us to a back room alone even though another couple was right behind us. It was clear we were being punished for not speaking French. We made the decision to come to Montreal on a whim when our trip to PEI was cancelled due to Fiona. They sure made us feel that was a bad idea. I’m this case ignorance was not bliss. I will say the drinks were lovely, but wish we left before they came.

We are staying in Montreal for 4 nights and this completely wasted a night. We waited an hour to get into the bar, which is totally fine because we thought it’d be worth it! As a group who works in NYC and has been to speakeasys multiple times, this is by far the worst experience. It took another hour entirely to get our drinks after our waitress passed us over to someone else. It’s Sunday by the way. The bill even takes half an hour.

I usually give great reviews, but this is genuinely disappointing. I feel bad leaving this review but I feel like I should warn others how bad it was. The waitress was even surprised when we politely told her it was disappointing, which is odd because it was so blatant.

Beware. Honestly. Drinks were delicious but definitely not worth it.

In order to access this hidden speakeasy, you need to find the secret to the brick wall (it's easy). Once you do, you descend down into an underground room with service staff dressed like it's 1940. Great drinks, great decor. It's a busy place, so service can be a bit slow. Be patient. We were there on a Saturday night and were not expecting a burlesque show, but that's what we got! Great atmosphere. Fun visit.

this was a very unique place to eat, only reason we went was because of the reviews we spotted on here. Finding the place was the first challenge as you won't find a lot of advertising outside the building as we found with most of Montreal's top spots. The brick door way was interesting but easy to spot which one needed to be pushed to gain entrance. You walk into a very small restaurant that's dark and just very different from the norm. It was like ok this is going to be interesting, you just knew you would enjoy it. The drinks are good and lots of choices, However if you like a lot of food choices you came to the wrong place, but if you are just wanting great food from a small menu then you are where you need to be. The food here was amazing. We were a group of 4 so we tried a little bit of everything and we loved it all, we planned to go back a couple days later but we ran out of time before our trip came to an end, But we will be back again for sure. Atmosphere was great, service was great, but food is what makes this place a must stop.

Really cool place. Brick wall entrance and you have to try to find your way inside. Once inside you transport back into the twenties. It’s a simple place with cool drinks and a friendly staff. Definitely a different vibe and cool relaxing atmosphere. Not a place to come party, more to chill and enjoy a drink or two.

We were so excited to go here on our last night in the city and made a special trip just to go. But we were gutted to find it was closed on a Monday night with a padlock locked gate over the door :( Please add opening times on TripAdvisor and your website! Went to La Distillerie No 1 instead which was great!
