Our guide Odette met us at our hotel and led us on a walking tour throughout old Quebec City, customizing the tour to our preferences. She started by telling us about the area’s history --including the British and French occupations. We viewed significant and historical buildings, the tourist shopping areas, the only cigar store (by request) and more. Odette is very knowledgeable and shares her insights.

For a comprehensive and meaningful tour, I highly recommend Odette.

We had a short time in Quebec City and Xavier was the perfect guide to this beautiful place. His ability to tailor the tour to our interests and past experience made for a hugely enjoyable three hours (3 hours is a minimum to see this properly). His ability to interpret Quebec for us Europeans and give that European/North American comparison was very good. Do this at the start of your stay. Highly recommended.

This walking tour was a highlight of our visit to old Quebec City. Our tour guide, Neal, was absolutely wonderful. You will learn so much about the city, it's history, and what sites you will want to visit.

Jocelyn took my wife and me on a delightful three-hour private tour of Old Quebec. We had told Xavier in very general terms what we are interested in: history, architecture and current events. Jocelyn met us at our hotel, we told her the few places we had visited on our own, and she took it from there. She included the better-known landmarks as well as tips about restaurants and places to visit on our own. We walked through lower town, around the Chateau Frontenac, went inside the Ursulines' chapel. and visited other significant historic buildings and talked about when the buildings were built and how their use has evolved over the years. She was also thoughtful to tailor our tour for our fitness level. For example, we wanted a casual stroll with periodic pauses to sit on a bench and talk about the view or the relevance of certain institutions to today's Quebec and Canada. We would take a tour with Tours Accolade again in a minute! Did I mention Jocelyn's visual aids? She had maps and historic photos that helped these Americans appreciate the changes to Quebec through history. The fact that she was born and raised in Quebec City means that she has first-hand knowledge of living and working in the very areas we were visiting. Also, after we initially booked our tour, our personal plans changed, and Xavier and Jocelyn were kind and flexible about helping us rearrange the time and day of our tour.

We are still talking about our incredible tour of old Quebec City conducted by Xavier. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history and politics of Quebec. He customized the tour for us based on our interests and activity level. It well exceeded our expectations. He made history come alive! I can’t imagine a visit to Quebec City without doing this tour.

Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our private walking tour of Old Quebec. Xavier met us at our hotel and entertained us with history and cultural information. He was entertaining and considerate, asking about breaks on a cold and windy day. Highly recommend.

I went on this tour with three others, booked through Experiences on Airbnb. It was indeed the highlight of our time in Quebec City! We all learned so many things about the city, its architecture, and history - throughout the rest of our trip, we continually referenced the time periods, building materials, and social elements Xavier told us about. I was amazed that such an educational, funny, and info-packed tour could be done in just two hours. It truly enriched our travels to know the history of Quebec City better and how it impacts various parts of life in Quebec today. Xavier was the perfect guide, and he answered so many of my random questions I almost felt guilty. Not to miss!
