These 275-foot falls on the Montmorency River tower higher than even the legendary Niagara Falls. The 2013 season promises to be exhilarating for people who will visit Parc de la Chute-Montmorency – Montmorency Falls, the second most visited site of the provincial capital after Old Quebec. The highlight of all the new summer activities is certainly the opening of two via ferrata routes built in the Boischatel fault near the waterfalls. Via ferrata – this is italien for “iron roads”, is an activity accessible to everyone over 12 years old that combines hiking and rock climbing. The two paths are built on the rockface on the eastern side of the waterfall. The less adventurous will also be able to get stunning views of the 83-meter high waterfall aboard the cable car which now runs with sparkling new cabins. History buffs will be glad to know that guided tours are now offered each weekend in the company of Sir Frederick Haldimand, who served as Governor of Quebec from 1778 to 1786 and Mathilde Robin, best known as the Lady in White, who lost her fiancé during the Montmorency Battle in 1759. Guided tours are offered in French or English until Labour Day weekend.

We went out of our way to visit the Falls during our recent trip to Quebec City. It only took a few minutes to get there, and the falls are quite impressive to see! We took the gondola to the top of the hillside, where we walked the bridge across the top of the waterway. Exhilarating! And, very safe feeling.... More

These falls were quite impressive. There were several vantage points from where you can observe the falls: above them on a suspension bridge and from various points along an adjacent cliff. Each point can give you a different perspective. There are some near by walking trails too, which looked fin, although we didn't have an opportunity to try them. However,... More

We stopped by the park on a whim, and weren't excited by the entry-fee of CAD 12, but we weren't charged that much. It was a nice site to take in a bit of nature, and it was more peaceful when the tour bus and its passengers moved along.

This is not my first or last time I go visit this site. It is small and basic, however I just find peace here. You need to stop and look around and enjoy. Also depending on the side of the site you go to, please do the trail .... I love it.

We made the short drive from Quebec city and found that they now have a gondola to bring you to the top of the falls. Much different experience when the falls are frozen! The ice builds up from all the spray and you can walk across the frozen lake. Nice way to spend an hour or two.

We saw the falls on a rainy and windy day. It was not the best conditions but the falls were amazing just the same. The water rushing down is so powerful. The falls are taller than Niagara Falls but narrower. They are worth the visit.

We viewed the falls from all three levels. It was amazing. The bridge over the falls was the best part. It was very crowded but we are glad we went to see it.

Close to Quebec City. Very impressive large falls I had never heard of before. You can get close on the side and also walk over the length of falls. Bewares of hoards of pushy tour bus people with selfie-sticks.

Even though I admittedly have a fear of heights, this is an amazing place to visit. The top of the falls features a bridge that takes you right over the falls and then to a park where you can enjoy many different viewpoints.
