If you are spending more than a couple of days in old quebec it is worth taking the ferry top Levi to see the other side

The ferry between Quebec and Lévis offers the best view you can imagine on the Chateau Frontenac and Quebec city. Less than an hour, not expensive and very pleasant, don't miss that.

This route gets overlooked by a lot of tourists because of its functional purpose as a commuter ferry, but it is a great way to see the skyline of Quebec City, and for a maritime city with a long history it is interesting to see from the vantage point of the early explorers.

Stayed in Levis for the night and decided to go to Quebec City for supper and a bit of a walking tour. Decided to take the Ferry across rather than drive. We're not disappointed. Was not real busy. Workers were very helpful and very pleasant. Reasonable prices and perfect opportunity to get some nice pictures of the City at night... More

We took the ferry instead of paying a bundle for one of the cruises. We had every bit as good of a view of Old Quebec and the Frontenac hotel as any cruise. If we hadn't been limited on time, I would have walked to the top Levis town for more views.

This activity was recommended by our innkeeper. It was a cold sunny winter day and the river was filled with chunks of ice. We went to a microbrewery in Levis then returned to Quebec City at sunset. The view of the Old City was AWESOME! At $7.00 return per person this was a fabulous way to see the city from... More

This is the best way to see Quebec City and great fun too. Also great fun to see and hear the ice breaking by the bow. CAD2.50 each way. A lot of fun on a very cold February day.

This is the best way to arrive in Quebec, ESPECIALLY if you happen to be staying at the Chateau Frontenac. The majestic hotel is just a bump on the horizon as you depart on the ferry from Levis, but it grows larger and larger and larger until the ferry is berthed at the terminal in Quebec as the Chateau fills... The journey from Québec to Levi's only takes a few minutes but is an excellent way of getting some good views if the St Lawrence and excellent photographs looking back towards old Québec and, in particular, the Château Frontenac
