If you take the ferry at night from Quebec to Levis, get off the ferry and catch the next ferry back to Quebec City simply to take pictures of the city skyline. It is stunning with the Château and Terresse lit up. All told, it will take you under an hour and cost less than 10$.

Taking a car on a ferry is a new experience for me. With that said I found it to be very efficient. Children 4 and under ride free so with our SUV and two adults, it was $14 CAD one way. Ferries ran every 20 minutes when we arrived at 3:30pm although I noticed the frequency reduced at 6pm. Google... More

While in Quebec city it is a must to take the ferry to Levis with a return ticket. Nice promenade on the other side and the view of Quebec is something else to discover.

Nice view of Quebec from the upper deck of the ferry. The only gripe was that pedestrian passengers wanting to immediately return on a round trip ticket must first debark and exit the arrival area of the Levis terminal, and then re-board. Terminals have several flights of stairs.

We crossed the Saint Laurence when it had huge blocks of ice floating all over. Was outside in the cold listening and staring at the ice break apart.

Some locals recommended we ride the ferry simply for the spectacular view of Quebec City on the return trip. We visited in February and the experience of seeing and hearing the ferry boat crunch through the ice-laden river was a thrill in itself. If you like taking pictures, then the ferry ride is a must-do.

Watching all the ice flowing down the St Lawrence river and watching the ferry's cross this and seeing the ships going up and down it, it took me a while to summon the courage of getting on it. I don't really like being on boats/cruising. Especially a fear of freezing to death in freezing water. I know, irrational fears, so... More

The Levis ferry has the best views of Quebec City and the Chateau Frontenac. It is a cheap round trip and totally worth it.

The ferry between Quebec and Lévis offers the best view you can imagine on the Chateau Frontenac and Quebec city. Less than an hour, not expensive and very pleasant, don't miss that.
