If you go, try and go early in the morning before the tours are started or later when everyone has gone for the day.

If you're not afraid of stairs, this is the shortcut to the top. It not only saves you a lot of distance, but it also makes it easier to not get turned around on the winding streets.

Got up early to explore and walked down to the Quartier Champlain- no one was around and it was lovely. Took the steps back up - what a lovely view.

This is where all the tourist go. Even though we had been to Quebec before, we head straight for here. Its the best way to get to Quartier Petit Champlain.

Taking the stairs down is a must do activity. Lots of wonderful stores, restaurants and views. Many people take the stairs down and then take the Funicular up. You get great views and 2 must do items off of your list. The last set of...More

In the old town area of Quebec city is a section known as the breakneck steps, to be honest its a bit overrated, they are some steps you can go up or down them, I've seen worse.
