Loads of people, and lots of t-shirt shops intermingled with bars/restaurants. The architecture looks like France, but isn't as quaint as that found in the lower town. The entire Old Quebec neighborhood is designed to get you to part with as much money as possible.

A very nice part of the city to walk but where comfortable shoes as it is a bit hilly. Historic buildings, many good restaurants. French is the first language of 95% of people who live and work here but they will immediately speak english when...More

All I can say is explore and when you're tired find a terrace and have a drink. We had so much fun exploring, eating and stopping for a glass of wine. 3 days and I didn't want to go home!

So much to see and do: shops, restaurants, street performers, coffee stops, ice cream parlors. Spend a day exploring all the exquisite doorways and sights.

We are staying in Upper Town just off the square where City Hall is located. It is the perfect place to stay because everything is within walking distance. When we arrived there was an 11 day musical festival and most of it was free and...More

When in Quebec visit all of Old Quebec which we call the Latin Quarter. It is the closest resemblance to an old city in Europe right here in North America. Walk on rue Saint-Louis from la Porte Saint-Louis (the uppermost gate & part of the...More

In addition to the Chateau Frontenac and Terrace Dufferin, there are a number of beautiful churches along with shops and restaurants in upper town. There are also some good restaurants. This is a fun area to explore and to soak up the ambiance.

Strategically placed on Cap Diamant, Upper Town is the administrative and military hub of Quebec. It is home to a plethora of hotels, shops, historic sites and restaurants. It is well worth touring (try it on foot as the city inside the walls is really...More

This area is not as congested as the parts of the city closer to the water. It is nice to get away from the main tourist areas to see neighborhoods where people actually live.

We had a good time visiting Quebec City. A lot of places to eat and shop. Careful of small shops a lot of them have the same stuff, just watch prices. Neat to walk the streets and just browse.

The hop on hop off bus tour was quite pricey. I believe it was close to 40 dollars Canadian per/person. We opted to walk and see everything on foot.
