    Love it here!
I spent a couple of days here with hubby and our 2 young adult daughters. It was a fabulous time in the most charming town I've ever seen. Very walkable, lots of shops and restaurants, and everyone was so friendly! Everyone was quick to switch to English as soon as they heard our sad attempts at speaking French. So fun!

    Gorgeous Quebec!
Quebec is gorgeous! It is such a pleasure to wander the streets of old Quebec by day or night. From the Upper Town you can get great views along the river. The Chateau Frontenac is iconic and walking around it and along the Terrasse Dufferin is a delight.

Nice views & tons to see and do
Stop by this cool park with nice views overlooking old Town, nice views of the old buildings around. Tons of shops & eateries Stop into the old castle and nearby is the Citadel. Every aspect of old and new city is easily walkable from cruise port.

    A Town to Explore
We wandered around here each day, always finding something new. Every street seems to lead to somewhere or something interesting, including restaurants and bars galore, each offering a different experience. There are a few tourist shops, no high rise and a massive incongruous (to us) Disney-style hotel, which looks ridiculously out of place and really jars with everything around it. The cruise passengers loved it of course, saves them going to see a real château in the Loire.

    Beautiful part of Quebec
Upper Town or Haute-Ville is a beautiful part of Quebec. There are plenty of restaurants and bars as well as tourist and other shops to keep visitors happy. It is a very clean city and one can never get tired of walking around and visiting various sites.

As gorgeous as the Lower Town
The upper town is equally beautiful and not as 'tight' as the lower town with it's small houses and cobbled streets you can reach via the funicular. Here everything is bigger and the traffic is more intense. This is where you find all the museums of interests, free to access Notre Dame cathedral etc Equally expensive as Lower town, yet there are good deals to be found.

    France at your doorstep
I love Quebec City! Short flight to experience French cuisine, cobble stone stone streets in one of the oldest cities in North America. And, these French speakers are actually Friendly! Let me not forget to mention the great exchange rate for our dollar.

    Quaint Upper Town
While visiting Fairmont Le Chateau Fronternac, Upper Town or Haute-Ville is right there. Lots of quaint shops and restaurants. The locals are friendly and a couple different people approached us to help with directions. Well worth the time to tour the area.

We stayed in Upper-Town and it was rocking at night (the first night, a little too much as we were exhausted and wanted to retire early in the hotel). The buildings are beautiful, and we found a restaurant that claimed to have been serving meals since the mid 1600s! Like the lower area, the streets are steep and cobblestone. Absolutely lovely!

Best part of Old Quebec. Chateau De Frontenac. What an amazing and iconic part of Old Quebec. On a beautiful day like when we took the tour, everything was great. The view of St.Lawrence River was breathtaking. It was so nice to see artists playing music and people just chilling listening to the music and enjoying the moment. First time here. Definitely, not the last time.

we started at the chateau and did our own walking tour of upper town where we took in many places on the Rue de st jean all the way past the parliament buildings and then down the rue de st louis ...then we went around in a carriage on day 2 so interesting and the guide knew alot about all the old houses ...the carriage was 100.00 for two

We stayed in a great hotel in this part of town and returned to this area many times to eat and tour. Lots to see here. This was a major settled area in the 17th Century and is quite charming now. Lots of sites. Lots of food.
