This square is beautiful both during the day and at night. We came back at night and there were less people. The old buildings and cobble stone roads make you feel like you are in Europe.

My girls loved seeing this square when they were little and obsessed with Beauty and the Beast ..it looks like a location set out of the movie ! Now I was here on business many years late later but happy memories strolling through ..worth a look

Anyone's visit to the area of old Quebec city will make their way through here. While smaller than most town squares, you'll really get a feeling for being in an old European town. There's a very old church here, a museum with some history of the area, and a few shops and restaurants. There are a few choices for walking... More

Great weather to walk around the Place Royale, stayed in a old bank converted into a boutique hotel. We were walking distance to the place Royale which was surrounded by nice boutique and restaurants. As well as great ice cream.

This is THE place to be for the cultural center if Québec City. The restaurants, shops, and church make this square the place to be. La Pizz, my favorite restaurant, is right in the center. My favorite souvenir shop is also in this quarter. You'll feel like you're in Europe when you're here.

In Europe the town squares are on a much larger scale but this will do. There is no market here either (though I believe they used to have one many years ago). I believe most of the lower Petit Quarter of Old Quebec was restored to its former glory. The walking tour from the Champlain Museum is a must.

We ate twice at the little pizza restaurant and visited the church in the square. My favorite little spot in Old Town

You can watch the crowds of cruise ship tourists whilst sitting outside under an awning in this bistro. We watched too the local merchants and the street musicians. All for $10 a person for the best coffee in the area and a decent almond croissant or Pomme patisserie.
