About
As soon as you step into the old part of town, you will without a shadow of a doubt fall in love with the charm of the city. As one of the oldest cities in North America, Quebec is replete with secrets that most locals have no knowledge of. I am offering to personally guide you through these well-kept secrets and into the rich history of Quebec in a humorous, fun-fact-filled manner. Believe me, you will not find another history-savvy comedian by trade offering a free tour of this kind. By experience, I know tour guides can sometimes be monotonous Debbie Downers, and that is exactly why I’ve devised this humorous historical tour! If you are planning a visit to Quebec, make sure to inquire about an authentic, one of a kind tour.

Sam did a great job on a cold and very windy day keeping us entertained and laughing. He let us know that we would be moving to
places with less wind while giving an informative talk as we visited various sites.
Note: we first booked with ‘local tour expert’ another free tour company. They sent us an email right after I booked but nothing else, and did not show up at our meeting point this morning. We were so glad Sam let us reserve same day. He confirmed our reservation immediately and even sent another email warning us of the wind outside so we could dress for properly.

Great tour. Sam provided lots of information and answered all questions. The tour was very informative about the history of Quebec City and Sam was able to provide a feeling for the uniqueness of Quebec.

Me and my friend thoroughly enjoyed the 2-hour walking tour of Quebec with Sam. He was informative and entertaining and made sure he talked to everyone in the group to make us feel welcome. The walking pace was steady and suited the whole group. We stopped in a variety of places for Sam to share historical/modern facts along with interesting stories and the route took us from outside the Parliament Building ending down by the river. I'd highly recommend this tour to any visitors. Sam definitely earned his tips from all of us.

Great historical tour by Samuel. Many fun facts and a lot of humor. The 2.00 hours went by fast.

Sam took us to some interesting places but it was a freezing cold day and it would have been better to keep moving and stop for shorter periods. He said at the start that he likes to tell jokes but they went on too long. Unfortunately this tour rates lower than the many we have done elsewhere.

Bonjour Philippa,
I truly appreciate your honest feedback about the walking tour of Quebec City :). I understand that the weather wasn't ideal on the day of your tour, and I can't control that element, but I always strive to make the best of it. I did shorten the tour by 10 minutes when I noticed some of you were feeling the cold (usually I get to the Dufferin Terrasse but not this time). I also did find way as much as i can to cut the cold and find walled part as shelter for the wind. Not always easy!
I'm sorry to hear that my jokes went on too long for your liking. I'll work on finding a better balance in future tours on this type of days.
I do remember that it was quite a chilly and windy day, and that it can affect the experience. I've conducted tours in way worse conditions and found that wearing warmer clothes can make a significant difference.
November is in the in between time to adjust.
It's important to note that while the weather may have made your experience less enjoyable, others on the tour did have a good time as I got somes email back from somes of them.Outdoor experiences can be quite weather-dependent, and individual preferences vary.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and mostly Thank you for joining me, even on a chilly day.
Better than those who do no show.
Have a nice trip here you both :)
Im sure you will have
Merci encore
Sam

A really smashing tour of the City sights, would highly recommend this light hearted but very informative introduction to the city.
I would advise booking this right at the start of your stay to get the most from Sams recommendations about sights and where to go to get the local feel, it will enrich your visit!

Spent the afternoon with Sam learning about Quebec. Sam is very knowledgeable and shares many funny stories. Saw the main sites and had lots of laughs. When we come back to Quebec will do another tour with Sam. He loves Quebec and has many great recommendations for food and drink

Sam's stories and jokes helped to keep us dry as we took this two hour walking tour on a vey wet, rainy and cold October day. Regardless of the weather Sam gave us the full 2 hour tour and didn't rush. Would highly recommend booking this tour to help you get the acquainted to this beautiful city.

Where did you sign up for this tour? All I can see is that you show up at the described place near Parliament.

He has a website (a free tour of Québec) where you need to sign up.
I would highly recommend signing up in advance and not just showing up at Parliament, as he is often sold out.
