Overall, great experience & setting. However, we were concerned about number of ticks present. Four of us spent almost an hour touring the trails but unfortunately found 6 ticks on our bodies. We knew how to deal with them but are concerned about those who are not aware of the seriousness of the problem. Please consider putting up ‘tick awareness’ signs because it is quite heavily infested.

Went in the fall and it was absolutely gorgeous. Got to feed the chickadees and the staff were all so eager to teach. Very easily walkable, nice short Sask style hike outside the city!

Really nice, peaceful walk, several fairly short trails to choose from, a couple of them near/over the creek. Lots of birds, ground squirrels, etc. Great relaxing time spent here, and ample parking

You park in the small dirt parking lot and then walk up to the Visitor Center, as you can get to all 4 marked trails from behind the Visitor Center. I found the ranger in the Visitor Center to be quite friendly and he answered all my questions. Since I was short on time, I only walked the Green Trail and the Yellow Trail. You can see a huge beaver dam on the Green Trail. As you leave the Visitor Center, turn right to follow the Green Trail. As you walk along, you’ll see a blank signpost. If you walk a bit more, you’ll see the same signpost, but it says Trail Closed. Now go back to the blank one and walk down that short path, look to your left and you can see the large beaver dam. After walking the Green Trail, walk the Yellow Trail. It goes over a few small bridges and is mostly a shaded walk in the trees. You can also see some smaller beaver dams on this trail. Both trails are very well marked – and in any case, the area is small enough that I don’t think you can get lost. Note that the Visitor Center has indoor restrooms, if needed and the display in the Visitor Center is cute. Note: Beavers are active at dawn and at dusk. I was there in the middle of the day, and so didn’t see any beavers. Given all the trees and the water, I imagine there will be quite a few mosquitos around dawn and dusk.

There are walks of differing lengths to choose from. Peaceful way to spend a morning spotting the wildlife. Loads of information at start point which helps to identify what you are likely to see.

There are four trails which can fit different types of people, we tried three of them (not the longest one).
The views are pretty good! Lots of birds although we visit during noon time. However, we didn’t see any other wild animals (I was expecting to see beavers), maybe not the best time during the day.
The shortest trails is only take around 15mins, which is good for us (grandma is over 80 years old).
Very good place to visit during weekend, very close to Saskatoon. Thumb up!

Went for a nice hike here last week. Many families with small children feeding the chickadees - nothing cuter. This is such a peaceful place to take in nature. You can stay amongst the sheltered trails if it is too windy or hike all the way to the South Saskatchewan for more great views. Many options to meet your needs.

Summer 2020. This area is closed. I think it is due to Covid. It is sad to see this still closed. Apparently is is a great place, but don't bother driving out at this time.

Short drive South of saskatoon. Well marked. Spend the day walking the trails. Spring is awesome with the flowers blooming. Always critters running around. Take water and a snack. Decent walking shoes.
