About
Saskatchewan's premiere summer arts festival on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River begins in early July and runs to mid August every summer. Come see some of Saskatchewan's finest actors perform Shakespeare's greatest works along the river. Located along the Meewasin Trail, the newly renovated site is not only home to theatrical productions each summer, but also a great place to take in the beautiful views, wildlife, and community spirit that YXE has to offer!

The Sheakspere on a Saskatchewan is an annual festival. The 2017 year was an okay experience with amateur artists without anything resembling a real theater. Lacked director and preparation. The high school musical productions seem way better done than this. Persephone hosts better shows with travel artists and traditional venues. Although may have same artists, performing, most of the times they are better directed and more professional.
Not worth the price. Overrated and overpriced.

The venue was great in the tent as theatre in the round. The production itself, The Comedy of Errors, was a little too deep for my taste. It wasn't until the last portion of the presentation that I "got it". The actors were very good but the modern take on this Shakespear classic was a little too obscure for me.

I have heard about Shakespear on the Saskatchewan for years but have never seem to gone, until July 2019. I finally pulled the trigger on this and a combo with the Prairie Lily. I must say this is a first class act of live play/theatre. The actors were great, engaging and top notch. I saw A Comedy of Errors. It was great. I have to make this a more regular activity. So worth it.

Live theater performance in a tent on the river. We go every year and enjoy it every time. I understand next year they'll have a new venue with comfortable seats I hope.

For the last 5 years I have attended at least one of the major performances due to a work commitment. after the first one, I didn't have to be asked twice. not being a fan of the Bard, remembering parts of the stories from high school, several years ago, I thought it would be ok to attend, a couple hours of time. each year I became more excited for the season to start. very entertaining, intimate atmosphere, great people, great settting. Loved it.
