Lovely, welcoming staff! Great energy - they want to teach you about glass and to share their knowledge.
We did a 1/2 hour (between 2 people) and each made a beautiful souvenir of our time in Whitehorse.
It was enough time to make something wonderful (with their expert guidance) and develop a huge appreciate of the skill that they have. I will go back! I’d say it’s addictive <3

During our stay outside Whitehorse on a mission to witness the magical Aurora, we came across Lumel Gallery and signed up for a 1 hour Hot Date for 2.
What an incredible experience for couples or friends. We had so much fun!
The passion of the team at Lumel is infectious.
The amazing Noah and Alec? guided us through creating 2 ornaments each. Choosing colours was the hardest part!
The ethos, community spirit and community engagement is a credit to the wonderful owners.
The artistic team members made this one-of-a-kind experience safe and one never to be forgotten.
Our creations will make us smile whenever we look at them.
We also bought some other special items made by the local artists as gifts.
The studio is worth taking time to look around with much history and fascinating inclusion of local ash in their creations.
Thank you so much Lumel team …. Lumel Gallery is a Whitehorse community gem

This was the highlight of our trip! Getting to make beautiful pieces was second to meeting the staff.

An awesome experience with their drop in glass blowing. The person guiding us, Graham, was enthusiastic, patient and helpful. The other glass blowers around were also very positive and encouraging. Their cafe, Gather, was a great place to grab a coffee (or a pint) in one of their beautiful glasses before our experience. Just a lovely place!

Walked over to see the Glass blowing studio. It has a nice patio at the large open studio, it felt nice and warm. Some glass blowing was happening. I wanted to check out the Gather coffee shop. I arrived around 2 pm on a Saturday. Didn't open until 4 pm. Returned on a weekday and again the coffee shop was closed. Will I try a third time? Probably not, there are other coffee shops.

Very excellent place to stop in and create something unique! So accommodating for wheelchairs. They have a special bench and are so helpful. This is a must do for people stopping in Whitehorse. You will not be disappointed!

Family of 4 went and we each made something 2 paper weights and 2 hanging bulbs. Kids are aged 5 and 8. Staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and kind. We had a blast, picked up our creations the next day and are so happy with how beautiful they are. The store also has a huge selection of already made items to buy.

A working glassblowing shop in town. You can watch for free or take a lesson. Lots of great glasswork to buy.

If you are looking for a hands on experience, that offers you a chance to be creative while learning a new skill, this is it. The studio is easy to find, and is connected to a wonderful cafe. The studio is large, very warm and is full of happiness. Luanne lead the workshop and was patient while explaining everything is such detail. She was supportive while offing valuable advice to help me build my skills. It was my first time in the hot shop but it definitely won’t be my last. If you’re looking for a place to begin your journey, I can’t recommend Lumel Studio enough. Give it a try!
