We visited the information centre today as we had several hours to spend in Whitehorse. The lady on the desk was extremely helpful and friendly, and suggested various places to visit. She also even organised a taxi for us.

Take a look at the interactive map of Yukon, very informative.
Gemstone collection was great and well laid out . Video of the Yukon was dated but beautiful scenery never changes , it shows the summer ; we will be back . Staff friendly and helpful .

We arrived by car on a Wednesday at about 3pm and hadn't been able to arrange any place to camp while we where here. So we thought that we would go into the information centre and get some help. We were greeted by a man who laughed at us for not booking anything earlier and then threw a booklet across the couter at us and told us pay phones are in the corner.
The information centre had no WiFi or internet stations available and the one staff member was so useless and rude that you would be better going to an internet cafe and researching it yourself.
After one phone call the man came up to us and said we are closing and you must leave right now! At this stage it was 3:15pm.
We ended up heading to te local library for wifi and sorting it out ourselves. We were very lucky to get in contact with Amanda from the Robert Services Campground who was more than accommodating and really looked after us in our visit to Whitehorse.
Also you could try Baked a little cafe right around the corner they have wifi and delicious food and coffee to help you find what you need

The visitor center is a great place to get oriented. With only 30,000+ people in all of the Yukon, you can get a real perspective of what a wild place this part of the world is. The large map near the door (on the wall to the right) when you enter, really puts things into perspective.

Popped in twice during my stay in Whitehorse; both times staff were able to assist. Lots of information on local tours.

This is definitely the place to start your visit to the Yukon. There is lots to see and do, but you may know as little about it as I did before I went there. Friendly helpful staff, highly recommend a stop here.

We were very pleased with the service and materials available here. They made our trip up the Dempster Highway much easier to plan.

Although the day we went was very quiet, the lady at the desk seems very knowledgeable. There is also Wi-Fi access in the Visitor Centre which makes it very convenient.

Great place to get info on the yukon-alaska-north of bc. Love the gian map, free wifi and tables, video, all in one place ! Abd the rocks-minerals display is quite neat! Make sure you get the yukon passeport where you can visit attractions around the territory, get your passeport stamped and maybe a chance to win some real yukon gold!

We drove from Arizona to Alaska and back and found Verizon coverage to be hard to find in NW Canada. You can count on free wifi, clean bathrooms and good information at the visitor centers.

Sorry this is so long getting to you. I didn't know there was email on Trip Advisor site. In White horse we stayed at the Walmart for about 3 day going and about 2 days coming back. Right beside Walmart is a gas station and it has gas, propane, a dump station and fresh water. The Canadian Tire right next to Walmart has WiFi and it is free and a good connection for downloading emails etc. There is a campsite out of town a bit but we choose not to go there partly because of price and they also had limited hook up (no sewer). We would have to move anyway so we decided to stay at Walmart. The first night we stayed in Walmart there were 43 other RVs in the lot. By the way Walmart is free.
