Visiting Beringia
Sep. 2021
Great little Museum, next to the Transportation Museum and the Whitehorse Airport.
They take you back to the Ice Age and discover how the animals and people survived, or didn’t!
Well worth a stop!

Great experience, informative visuals, friendly staff

Upon entering the vicinity, the parking lot seems to have a lot of humps. Maybe that's to prevent vehicles from doing donuts at the lot?

Anyways, going into the museum, there is a small trail leading to it showing species that existed back when the land bridge was active.

Inside are the exhibits containing fossils from different animals and very informative displays on how Beringia was formed, what the climate was back then, what the vegetation was like, etc.

Staff were very friendly and ask if it's your first visit and where you're visiting from.

They also have a theatre that explains in more detail about the history of Beringia and the animals that walked on those lands. They also hand out a sticker to locate yor seat to be sanitized when the movie has finished.

Don't skip this place
Sep. 2021
The Beringia Centre is not easy to get to, tucked in near the airport, but you do not want to miss going here. They have a very good film showing the changes to flora, fauna, and geography.

What could be better than a wooly mammoth
Aug. 2019
The wooly mammoth family beckons you from the highway and you can see the yellow rib like structure of the center from the road. Don't pass it by. Loaded with displays and exhibits and a film for you to educate yourself on the land bridge. You'll learn how it formed, the climate conditions, how the animals migrated (both ways) and which survived and which didn't. And fossils! Even the walk to the center is interesting with sculptures of ice age animals. Enjoy! We're return visitors. Always something new to learn from the well informed staff. Thanks.

Great pre-airport stop
Nov. 2019
It's only open on Sunday/Monday in the winter, which was perfect for our Sunday flight. We dropped our bags at check-in and headed over for a visit at the museum - very interesting displays of information on Beringia, including a great fossil collection and knowledgeable staff to answer questions.

This was an excellently done natural history museum. I would absolutely recommend it and it even has quite a kid friendly section. The displays were well done and informative.

Fascinating & Well Done
Sep. 2019 • Friends
Stop and learn about the area through which you will be traveling! The exhibits, movies, and enthusiastic guides help clearly explain Beringia, climate change, extinct animals, and those that have survived by adaptation to a changing world. Definitely a great stop for all ages.
