This museum is currently expanding and undergoing renovations but what is available for viewing is very informative. You'll find a good display of the wildlife of the area as well as the history of the city and the building of the Alaskan Highway.

This museum has great exhibits for a $10 entry fee. Actual gold fragments. Impressive display on northern animals including 8 foot high grizzly, wolves and polar bears. Had to admire the feather parkas and the beaded mukluks. Impressive work.

Beautiful gallery of art out front. Not exactly the most modern or eye-catching of museums, but lots & lots of genuine artefacts.

So much to see, you will get to know and understand wild life over 60 parallel, Aboriginal inhabitants history, Gold Rush times and learn to do gold panning and finally to enjoy Sam's Magee story

Plenty of interesting stuff to see here, well worth the time to learn about the area, it really gives a good idea of what this place was like and how tough it was to live here. Good exhibits and well informed staff, very good.
