About Muktuk Adventures
We are a rustic wilderness lodge located along the Takhini River in the Ibex Valley. Home to over 100 friendly Alaskan Huskies, we are a paradise for dog lovers. You will be immersed in our true Yukon lifestyle and Muktuk Adventures will become your home away from home while staying at our unique Wilderness Lodge or one of our authentic Yukon Cabins. We offer canoeing and hiking adventures throughout the summer and Fall. Discover the true beauty of the Yukon while our experienced guides lead the way. Throughout the winter we’ll take you on a once-in-a-lifetime dog sledding adventure. You will learn what it takes to be a musher while exploring the Yukon back country with your own team of up to six huskies. If you don’t have enough time to enjoy a multi-day excursion, we also offer day trips. In addition to that, you’re welcome to visit us anytime and enjoy free dog kisses!

This was the best part of our trip to Whitehorse, such kind people who show so much love and care for these happy dogs. Each of the dogs have their own unique personality and are happy and excited to do what they do best. So fun riding through the trails and spending time with all of the dogs. Come here if you love dogs this is a truly lovely experience. Also for anyone not used to spending time outside dress warm!...insulated pants, sweater and warm jacket, warm gloves and hat and proper warm boots. (Did the half day ride and river walk!)

Absolutely first rate. If you love dogs, this is nirvana. We stayed in the lovely Shilo Chalet, enjoying the autumn colours and absorbing Yukon fresh air. With the Takhini and Yukon rivers nearby and the Kluane National Park a mere 90 minute drive on the famed Alaska Highway we enjoyed the best of what Yukon has to offer. Our highlight was taking a dog sled team on a training run around the Muktuk property pulling us on an ATV. How cool is that that?! The Muktuk owners' love and respect for their dogs was amazing. We will be back in 2022.

Muktuk Adventures guided us on an epic paddle on the Teslin and Yukon Rivers, ending up at Dawson City. We were a group of six, with varying skills - from expert/guide level to newer paddlers. From the first interaction with Manuela, the customer experience was attentive, informative and generally awesome. Once we arrived in the Yukon and then set out on the river, it lived up to our high expectations in every way. Everyone agreed that Jeff was perhaps the most professional guide they had worked with. His gentle guidance, outstanding customer focus, keen sense of history and his humour made this an outstanding experience from start to finish. The nightly readings of Robert Service were a fun touch! Special shout-out to our canine paddle-mate, Little, who added another element to our trip. Can't speak highly enough of Manuela and Jeff, and of the Muktuk experience! We're already thinking of a trip back in the winter.

Thank you so much Colleen and Colin, we enjoyed every moment that we got to spend with you and can't wait to plan a winter adventure. Little One will be sitting out the adventure part and wait at home at the fire place for you :)

Muktuk Adventures (Jeff) took 6 of us on a 14 day epic canoe trip down the Teslin and Yukon Rivers from Johnson’s Crossing to Dawson City. It was the most amazing life experience — the guiding, food, equipment, paddling coaching and personal support were top-notch. We loved it and couldn’t more highly recommend the trip.
