My first time doing a dog sled ride, had a great time! Everyone was helpful and answered my questions, I was even given the option to drive the sled, I passed only because I would have felt terrible if anything happened to the dogs. I would recommend anyone looking to do dog sledding to go here.

While we were in Dawson, we wanted to do some day hiking in Tombstone Territory Park with a guide and through internet searches, found Marcelle of Alayuk Adventures. It was one of the best experiences and a treat to have all the details thought out for us. Each morning she picked us from our accommodations in Dawson making it very easy to enjoy the scenery along the way to the trailheads. On the hikes, she went “guide speed” and we could take our time stopping to enjoy the views, take photos, and ask questions. Summer or winter, I’m sure you could not go wrong enlisting her services!

Our dog sledding adventure was included in our “Best of Winter” stay at Northern Lights Resort and Spa. We were picked up by the owner of Alayuk, Marcelle, and taken to her retreat about 40 minutes outside of Whitehorse. We spent some time meeting many of her 52 dogs, all very friendly by the way. The very happy dogs were harnessed to the sleds which were made by Gilles, Marcelle’s partner. We were taken on a great 14 kilometre ride through the countryside. My husband and I chose to ride in the sleds the whole way with a musher driving the sled. Our friends chose to drive their sleds the last few kilometres back to the retreat. They were thrilled with the experience. Once home..so to speak..The dogs were fed prior to removing their harnesses and returned to their individual kennels. Again we spent time with the dogs before saying thank you and goodbye to all the staff. Marcelle then drove us back to the resort. It was an absolutely wonderful experience and given the chance we would do it again. Thank you Marcelle and staff.

An amazing experience with super friendly dogs, being able to drive your own sled, and gliding through beautiful wooded trails with lovely guides. The owner was able to accommodate our special request for a shorter version so we could also see the start of the Yukon Quest which we so appreciated. They have warm boots & other clothes to lend to make the trip more enjoyable. This was a highlight of our trip to Whitehorse and we feel this outfit is wonderful. Can't recommend enough.

We had a great time at our dog sled tour. Each person gets a personalized experience on their own sled with a guide and 6 dogs. The dogs are amazing and friendly, as are the guides. You can choose to spend the whole tour sitting in the sled or at the halfway point you can try" driving" yourself! A very charming experience

Once in a lifetime experience! Dress warm :) People are really friendly/humble and dogs are very well taken care. Was interesting to hear all about them and the guides are very knowledgeable. The dogs really do get excited to get going and can tell they are real athletes. Got to meet all the dogs prior and see all the steps from A-Z for a full experience :) When going, be curious; don't be late and I suggest bring money to tip :) as you will want to after this few hours. Beautiful scenery. Got to drive for the perfect length of time. They have a bathroom. Definitely a highlight of the trip and highly recommend this adventure with Alayuk!

It was one frosty day but a highlight of our Yukon trip that was arranged through Inn on the Lake. Marcelle, Gilles and the team do a fantastic job and you really learn a lot about the dogs and what it takes to mush a team. Our kids took their turns (we decided to pass) running their teams and had a great time of it. As others have said, the dogs are clearly excited to run and this is well worth making time for. Strongly recommended.

Alayuk is great, and Marcelle is the real deal having finished the Iditarod and Yukon Quest races multiple times each. Our family, 2 adults and 2 boys aged 10 and 13, rode around a wooded trail in the sled with mushers behind us. Some reviews mentioned being able to mush, but that wasn't offered to us possibly because of our kids ages or the fact that it was -35°C that day. The trail was also cut a little short due to weather which was understandable. The dogs just want to pull the sled. They love to work and are quiet while doing it...until they stop. Then it's obvious that they don't want to stand, they want to pull. After the ride we had coffee, tea, and cookies. There are multiple reviews giving negative comments about hospitality. We thought everyone was very nice, but in several cases, English seemed to be very limited; I suspect the perceived hospitality issues were simply not being fluent or comfortable speaking English. Being a dog lover, and having a working dog, it was awesome to see these dogs work, and how happy they are to work. They are well taken care of and were friendly enjoying interaction before and after the ride. Outerwear is provided if yours is inadequate. I would definitely do it again and recommend.

Had an amazing morning, dog sledding as the sun was rising! Gill, Marcelle and their team of dogs + mushers, gave us a wonderful Yukon experience. Each of the dogs were so excited to run (we did a 14 km loop) and many of them were grateful for a pat or some lovin'.
We were given some good history of the team's and races and about dog sledding.
Highly recommend this experience and Alayuk Adventures.

This was the highlight of my trip to Whitehorse! The vast majority of the sled dogs are super excited to see people and get love and scratches and we were encouraged to do so. While we were not able to use an actual snow sled due to the low snow level, Marcelle had an ATV hooked to the line ready to go and it was great experience. Marcelle also was happy to answer any questions we had, share her experience, and teach us about her sled. Pro tip, bring LAYERS, it gets COLD! Also, don't expect to be sledding the entire time. Part of your time is interacting with the dogs and watching the dogs get in line, both of which is a plus for me. A must do while in Whitehorse, especially for any dog lover.
