I am not sure if there are any ghosts or not but it is a practically abandoned town that might have a dozen residents. It's an interesting look at the past with shells of buildings overgrown with foliage. There are very few tourists so that makes it GREAT. It might take 15 minutes to walk through this tiny town but it is good for some photo opps.

Really interesting place gradually being restored by the EU. We had it to ourselves and enjoyed the walk up to the ruined church and could see how in a few years this will be a tourism trap. The signs they have put up added much to our guide book. The people left mainly for .Italy after WW2 because they did not want to live under Marshall Tito. There is an active farm and wine business very nearby and the school at the bottom is fully restored. You walk away from this toward the deserted places high up, but, suddenly a lady emerges and her modern car sweeps off to a supermarket we guess. A strange a magical place!

Driving through the untouched Istrian landscapes it's an exciting experience. Arriving in the village is a true return to the past, the history is felt everywhere around you.
Be sure, before the tour, to read the History of Zavrsje on the board next to the church.
Take a peek into every corner of collapsed houses.
Don't miss the museum of wooden instruments and the old trail station "Parenzana".

Završje is a small Istrian village located on a hill north of the Mirna River. This architectural jewel, which has been a witness to Istria’s turbulent history, was long concealed from the inquisitive eyes of tourists. The ancient architecture is dominated by stone and wood, making the entire village a single monument. A walk down its streets will take you back to long-lost era. The village was erected on the ruins of a prehistoric fort.

If you are touring the hilltop towns in Istria you will most likely only be a few kms away. It is mostly abandoned but there are still a few people here. The overgrown buildings allow you some great photos and It is a quiet visit.

The sights of this picturesque medieval town in northern Istria are the castle of the 11th century, and the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of St. Crowns whose 22 meters high belfry is inclined 40 centimeters northward. The Croatian name of the place is Zavrsje, and the ancient Italian name is Piemonte. The place is not far from Groznjan, a famous city of artists, where accommodation can be found because there is no accommodation in Zavrsje.
